Lol sadly I have no Magic Mikes in my life. I do sew, and I’ve been wondering for a while how to do these outfits. Thanks for the tips on Velcro and burlesque seamstresses! I’ll try to find a community that might have tutorials. Googling “how to make break-away pants” was just getting me tutorials about regular pants. :/

@Runemist34 – That’s awesome! Except I already asked like a year ago if I could drill in my garage “for a bike rack” and got turned down – oops! What’s that saying about asking forgiveness instead of permission? lol

That’s ok. Someday. I do love that the Lil Mynx poles only need a little itty bitty hole.

Aw dang! The way the SV pole hooks into the ceiling though – is that how the typical Lil Mynx poles are? Someday I’ll have a house(!!!) and I’m thinking ahead for something easy to put up/take down.

What Might Grip said. I also recently emailed Mark Culp directly. I’d gotten his email because Pole Dance Community passed me that site (I’d emailed them in the first place asking what I need to know about instructor/studio insurance). PDC didn’t know about the website closing down either.

Thanks for sharing, Veena! The part about dedicating time to a good warm up is something that resonates with me a lot at the moment.

From everyone’s descriptions, I do believe now that I have an authentic older model X-Pole. The dome is straight, not curved like @chemgoddess1 is talking about, and all the pieces I did get almost exactly match the photo by @AllysonKendal. However, it did not come with the wrench or dvd. It had an instruction manual, but it referred to x-joints and not the actual assembly of the model I had. Everyone, thanks so much for helping me learn the differences between real and fake X-Poles!

Thank you for the validation, knowing they used to have threaded joints makes me feel better. I know for sure next on my pole shopping list is getting TWO magnetic levels because this pole is just used enough that if you hold one level at 0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees, you won’t quite get the same reading on opposite sides like you’d expect. With two levels, holding them at 0 and 180 and at 90 and 270, you can at least split the difference and get it as good as it’s gonna get. Perks of having a 6’4″ engineer friend who can figure this out and reach the top of the pole!
