Does anyone deal with painful palms when your hands get "water logged"
I have had to keep my showers short and literally hold my hands above water in hot tubs because my palms start to sting when they've been under water too long. I suspect ive just worn the skin on my palms down but i have never heard of anyone else complain about this issue so im wondering if im doing something wrong here, do i have wussy palms?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I figure theres no sense in claiming ive got a move mastered if i cant use it in a freestyle.

One of my instructors told us of a guy who used to circle building in his truck over and over and over making it very obvious that he was peeping the pole classes. She went outside with her cell phone to record him and gestured to him that she was watching him and she said it scared him away… guilty people never want to be recorded in their wrong doing heh.

Working in the entertainment industry as a dancer is what sparked by Pole obsession but my training is much more fitness motivated than entertainment. I do some tricks at work when im in the mood to dance but honestly doing pole tricks isnt where the money is at… its a good conversatoin starter while im working the floor but while im onstage doing bad ass tricks It seems to keep guys in their seats as if they dont want to interupt me.
Pole is so much more to me than entertainment. It has given me a new purpose in life, lead me to meet some incredible people, have incredible experiences and even offers new career opprotunities!
I enjoyed my first competition last weekend and after I complete my instructor certification by KT Coates at the IPC I'll be a stripper turned pole dance instructor =P I would never have guessed i'd be where I am now in life thru an interest I found in a smokey strip club, heh.

MemberMarch 27, 2012 at 5:35 pm in reply to: Aysha…split grip vs. forearm grip vs. elbow gripI prefer elbow grip. I can use forearm grip in a straight edge but I havent become comfortable with letting my hips fall away from the pole as you do in an aysha.
I prefer the look of my hips being far out from the pole and my knees facing the floor so my legs look flat. This was a huge challenge for me at first until I realized that the farther out my hips went, the more secure I felt in my elbow grip. This is because when your hips come they pull your elbow grip into the pole. It creates a nice triangle which is the strongest stape of them all as opposed to keeping your hips close to the pole which leaves you dealing with only the straight downward pull of gravity.
my split grip uses a different bottom arm than my elbow grip. Since i got comfortable with my left arm being down and I built up those muscles, switching them for split grip has caused me a lot of frustration. In return I have found true grip to be ideal because my left arm is down just as in my elbow grip. I have choosin to avoid twisted grip all together cause there are so many safe alternatives. I have an old wrist injury that helped get me to that conclusion.

perhaps it is too tight? experiment with loosing the tension between the ceiling and floor a bit and see how it spins then. That was the answer for me when I had a similiar problem. Good Luck 🙂

i agree with some of the comments on youtube that the judges would have been much happier if they had seen that performance. Good for them, for taking constructive critisism and making good improvment!

I too have been slipping away from my pole with the same reasons as yourself but you have inspired me to start doing strength training to get my muscles back in shape and get back up on my pole as often as i used/need/want to! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
