  • Thanks so much both of you – after reading your comments yesterday I have started trying to eat more protein and complex carbs and already feel like there is some improvement, so I’ll definitely start paying more attention to diet. I thought I’d been eating enough but perhaps not the right things. Also I guess I hadn’t really thought of the fact that with changing my workout to be more intense I need to change my diet to provide more fuel.. I’m veggie so can struggle to get enough protein at times. I’ve ordered “Raw Green Protein” powder by Purple Balance to add to shakes after workout sessions so hope that’ll help mend my sore muscles. My sleep patterns are quite erratic, so I’ll try and sort that out too.

I also read somewhere that stretches/exercises which loosen out very long-held tension can make you feel very sick at first, so I’ll maybe go easy on the hip flexor stretching for a bit! Keeping fingers crossed I’ll be stronger again by time of the comp. Thanks again for the advice!

My Xpert Xpole is a bit temperamental sometimes too, and is on carpet as well. It usually spins but nearly always sticks, so isn’t a smooth spin.. and it often squeaks!

I find that I sometimes have to take it down and put it back up, and loosen it a bit sometimes as well..

  • Thanks polergirl & that’s a gorgeous video, so flowing and looks effortlessly pretty 🙂

That’s a really cool challenge as well – maybe I’ll do more “poling in street clothes” to make myself be inventive with floorwork/transitions!
