Thank you guys, and thanks for the links Veena. I know it’s a learning curve but it’s good to have good form and learn from people who have experience 🙂

Ahhh it’s a tough one isn’t it. I work from home so I’m lucky that I can just slot it in but I dread to think what it’d be like if I worked and had to fit in around the people in the house too. What about getting up early and having a good session first thing in the morning – get your body wide awake and a good burst of endorphins to get the day off to a good start?

Yes I had read this too. It’s been proven in studies on athletes that it helps with muscle memory. This is good news for me too 😉

Oh rubbish, I didn’t see the notifications for this post (or any posts at all tbh – I thought everything had gone quiet). I must look so rude! Suddenly I now have an inbox full of the things so time to start wading through lol. I used to be on the worldwide splitters group but left right at the beginning because someone told me it was just a glorified chat room. I’ll add back into it then, thanks Polekat xx

Polekat do you have a particular programme you follow? I need to stretch regularly to help my legs and back, but don’t really know where to start.

Yep, agreed! I build muscle VERY quickly, and pole definitely has been the thing that does this the quickest – and that’s saying something since I used to lift weights, and heavy weights at that! Some of the strongest girls in our classes don’t have visible muscle tone, and some of them do. It’s all in the body type!

Day 8 of the take off and abs challenge done, yay! Question for everyone though – how do you count your twists on the abs challenge? Is a touch with an arm one count or is a touch with both arms one count because that’s each side completed? So imagine you’re twisting and your arm touches the pole, then you twist and your other arm touches the pole etc etc do you count 1,2,3,4, or do you count 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,…..

Woohoo, I’m back in the room. I’ve started afresh with day 1 on 1st Oct and I’ve just completed day 3. I’ve made a point of building it into my day now so no excuses!! Day 3 of the abs challenge and the take off DONE!!

I had this exact problem and Veena is right, you need conditioning and strength work to improve it. I ignored it for a while and ended up with sore elbows and a shoulder injury through everything overcompensating so it’s really worth heeding everyone’s advice and stepping away from the stuff that aggravates it. Since mine started I have started all over conditioning workouts and I’m careful to work my forearms in my workouts and stretches too and it’s improved massively. I’m still not ready for split grip work but it’s definitely much stronger. Be patient and work on it and it’ll improve.

Oh maaaaaan, I’m so rubbish. I’ve totally fallen off the wagon. I need to get into a routine with this and build it into my day. My knee has been REALLY bad too so I’ve been so limited to what I can do. I’m starting afresh on Wednesday with @I polekat I and the others. Sorry for letting the side down guys. Promise I’ll work hard at it through October xx

Woohoo, day 4 done. I’m catching up! I think I’ll just do a day each day from now on. I know it’s not quite at day 7 where I should be tomorrow but it’s not far off. Maybe the next rest day I’ll skip and do the next day so that I do actually catch up to where I should be soon!

Damn it, had to take a break for a few days so I’ve got some catching up to do! Gonna catch up the 4 days over the next 2 days and get back on track. Looks like everyone’s doing well though.

Hi Veena, thanks for that. I haven’t actually been to the docs – it’s just been one of those things that’s happened over time and I’ve not thought to get checked out, but I think I will now you’ve mentioned it. Funny how we just accept things that our bodies do without worrying about it isn’t it. It bugs me every now and again but if I rest goes away so I am just cautious about anything that involves that sort of lunge or squat movement. Will get it checked though, thanks.

As for the video, must be my PC then. I’ll see if I can find some info to fix it. A bit annoying missing the first 3 or so seconds of each one!

Polekat I’m still going to do my usual 4 classes and 2 small routine classes each week. By stepping away from the pole I mean at home – not doing any other home practice other than the 30 day plans so that I can focus on that. I don’t think I could step away from everything altogether for 30 days!!!
