Pole update! I’ve had a practice session today and have to say that it felt much better. That is until I was just about to take off for a spin, realised a cupboard door was open, and almost wrapped myself around the pole in a very ugly manner! The cupboard door was nowhere near to where I might hit it but I think my brain just saw it as a danger and wouldn’t let me do it. Shut the door, carried on, and actually got some nice spins in. Woohooo!

Aha!!! Thanks! I’m working on the CKR at the moment. Can’t stop sliding down the pole! All I can hear in my head is “SQUEEEEEEEEZE”. I know what you mean though – there’s so much that I see people doing that I am in awe of.

Wow, you’d think that they’d want to at least check you were ok!! So hit and miss as to what kind of care you get sometimes isn’t it.
Pole sits are a killer aren’t they. Mine are toughening up slowly but after 3 or 4 attempts I can’t do any more for the pain. What’s a CAR?? (sorry – newbie here!)

Reassuring to know that others are feeling the same then. I’ve had a rest day so I’m gonna give it another go today and hope that it’s better. I bought it to compliment the classes (be teachers pet, do lots of homework lol) so I want it to work for me. People on the videos seem to be doing a great job, and some in very small spaces, so I think I’ve just gotta suck it up and get on with it!

I had that missy1234, I had a gynae appointment and had all sorts of questioning from them because of the bruises on my legs and thighs.

Hmmm, maybe. It’s gotta be something in my head somewhere. I’ve got confidence in the pole and it’s ability to stay put so it’s got to be something else. Maybe a bit of time and practice will sort it out.

Being so new to pole I tend to bruise quite easily everywhere but my legs and feet are toughening up quite quickly. Sporting some real shiners at the tops of my arms right now though. I love arnica cream – definitely works for me.

I’m new to this – are there specific things to look for when choosing shoes to dance in?
