Hi you. I’m not a great eater… I mean I generally choose healthy foods, but I also indulge. My goal isn’t realllllly weight loss (maybe a little, but it’s not my real focus) so I’m not really as restrictive as I should be.

I tend to like raw foods, both because I don’t like cooking and because I actually like them. I find if things in your fridge are fresh, easy to find and ready to eat you will grab them over a bag of chips!

When we come home with food we try to rinse it, cut it (if it’s something that gets cut… We take the tops off strawberries, but don’t slice them or the go bad faster) and store it in clear easy to find containers. When stuff gets jammed in the back it doesn’t get eaten… And when prep work needs to be done, again it’s easier to grab junk!

    Day 25. http://instagram.com/p/yTIaPFjLAv/

I never climb because my pole is so short, and my class poles are the same. So this was a good challenge!

I haven’t read all the responses yet, so I’ll probably have more to add later… Hopefully I’m not repeating so much. But…

I’m the slow learner in a class with a very fast learner (it’s usually just us 2, or maybe 1 other person) and she is a very sweet person who also happens to be a yoga instructor (probably why she picks up so easy) and I love that she cheers me on… She encourages me and offers to grab a pic when she thinks I did something pretty.

I realize this might be very hard if you’re shy and feeling judged… But I’d start the new class with that in mind. People just want to feel like you’re on their team, then they realize it’s not a competition.

Ultimately if they feel like are jealous of you it’s their problem, not yours… But I know what you mean about making friends. That’s why I started yoga and some other activities too. 🙂

    Awesome! So excited!!!

I’m sure the tsunami will be uh… Interesting. Haha. But I love that you’re mixing up the levels!

I might try and combine them next month (or just not do each day on time, and play catch up) I realize it’s been defeating the purpose this month if I rush to get something done and I’m not happy with it…I’m supposed to be perfecting basics! But I do like that it’s been forcing me to touch the pole every day!!! So we’ll see.

    Day 24 http://instagram.com/p/yQtPpLjLIf/

This was a nightmare without space. I kicked everything. I had to put it on spin and it was still hard.

    Blargh.

Also I was convinced he knew what he was talking about because I didn’t even point out the spot… after just describing the pain he knew where to jam his knuckle without even asking me exactly where the pain was… and it was the exact right spot.

Ok, I’m going to say something really vague and probably wrong… BUT it did make sense to me…

I had a similar sounding pain (I don’t think it was pole related) and I also thought maybe it was a rib, or maybe a muscle… and I rested it and it wouldn’t go away… I stretched it and it wouldn’t go away… I went and got a message thinking it would help, however it was at a chain and it was really relaxing but not firm enough or healing. She was sweet but not very knowledgable. Anyway…

I had a family member who is really is really into active release and fitness say “I’ll fix it” and he jammed his knuckle into the spot while I raised and lowered my hand out to the side (think jumping jack). and it was INSTANTLY better (after it stopped hurting from having a knuckle jabbed in my back)….

What he said that made sense to me (but could be wrong, or I could be repeating it wrong)… See the image below. Some muscle fibers from the Lat (the large muscle on the left) can sometimes get caught or pinched under the scapula… and whatever he did loosed them up and freed them from being pinched.

Now is it recommend you find someone to jab their knuckle into your back? No, but a chiropractor who also does Active Release could be really helpful. 🙂

Did any of that make sense?

On a more positive note.. I’ve had some wine (no work tomorrow)… and the new corespondent tonight was quite cute *blush*

My husband says I just like his accent. 😛

I dont have a personal recommendation, as Ive never been to SC… but I went to polenation.com and typed in 29201 (which i think is possibly near you) and came up with this list of 5 studios:

    http://www.polenation.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=29201&x=0&y=0

Try typing in your actual zip code (unless I got it right) and check out those studios and their web pages and proximity to you. 🙂

Pole nation is helpful but doesn’t really have reviews. I’d yelp them.

Haha. I just watched a video of me doing a CAR bridge and it is slow and painful. 😛

    basically ditto what Phoenix said!

For me the CAR isn’t something I do often… But is on my 2015 list of things I want to do.. “Do CAR without the fear of death in my eyes” I believe is my actual goal.

I do want to be able to do it beautifully HOWEVER many advanced pokers say it’s just not something they do often. I feel like Veena even said somewhere that she doesn’t love it, which (correct me if I’m wrong) she teaches Janiero from CKR not CAR. So don’t beat yourself up too much, it is a scary move!!!

The CKR is easier because you have one leg locked in and it’s acting as both the push and the pull. It feels very secure… But laying back can be scary even when you’re secure!

Yup. I saw it too but was in bed. I have to say I wasn’t surprised or even offended… Not to get political but I tend to agree with almost 0% of what he has to say anyway. My ears only perked up because I heard pole dancing. I think JS has to pick his battles with him (and most interviews probably)… But I should probably rewatch in a more awake state.
