I don’t know much about lifting, but my guess is it would help your poling (strength is really helpful)… I’m not sure if poling would help your lifting… mainly because I don’t know what lifting entails.
Polebull is a fitness powerhouse, and if she pops in here she can probably give you some insight. Her strength really adds to her style when she dances.
The only things I would think could be potential issues:
Doing two hard sports it may be hard to find balance, and you may be more prone to injury if you push too hard. Even just being sore from one of the sports my effect your other workouts. Also sometimes strengthening muscles can make them less flexible, which may make some pole moves harder.
I do think if you listen to your body and find a good balance the two sports can really complement each other. 🙂

Silly Question:
So I feel like I see real progress in my side splits (YAY!), even though I haven’t been consistent in my stretching (hopefully this will change)
However I’m still just as stiff when I’m not warmed up. So obviously yes, I warm up before I stretch…. but I’m wondering if as your flexibility increases warmed up… if your “cold” flexibility eventually increases as well.
I know it’s not THAT important, but I’m jealous of the people who can bust out a split on top of a wall or railing or something. You know, those fun photos you take when you see just the right spot.
I know my limits and I’m not looking to push anything… and I know I’m getting ahead of myself because I don’t even have my splits. I’m just curious about other people’s experience. 🙂
Thanks!

I haven’t used a silicone pole, but have you tried a shoulder dismount from inverted crucifix? It’s a nice exit if your stuck and looks harder than it is.

I would definitely try without Dry Hands. It possible you’re over gripping, but more than likely its the dry hands, that stuff is like glue!

Yayyy! That sounds so exciting! I’m sure you’d make a great teacher… And your background education means you’d be very knowledgeable.
I looked up my instructors certifications, I don’t know if this helps but she is Xpert, AFAA, and elevatED certified. I’m not sure which of those were necessary or anything. One thing I know is she does those “trainications” at Body and Pole in NYC and takes classes there when she can, so I think she structures her classes like them. I think it’s just good to have a model to follow, and see how other people teach classes so you can see how you want to do it. Also you’re a very strong and dedicated poler but it’ll probably be good to see other students in a class and see how other people work out, cause when you’re a home poler you’re only really tuned into yourself.
Congrats! Sounds promising!

Also if you are going to be staying there a while I believe you can cut your Lil Minx. Maybe someone else knows more about that…

This wasn’t easy for me at all! But I’ll post my video tomorrow. I tried several times but I couldn’t combo the regular and the reverse. Hard stuff!
