I have started yoga a few weeks ago and I just go to the free classes every week at the Lululemon store near me. Super fun!

I think when it comes to floor work or body waves confidence is key! And sometimes that means “fake it til you make it”…. And video yourself. If you look silly or awkward you can just delete it… But you might surprise yourself. The times I look the most awkward are when I’m the most tense or concerned with how I look. Starting simply is always best. It’s easier to be confident in simpler moves. It’s harder to feel sexy when your uncomfortable in a move.

Anyway… I kind of want to hear the “landlord destroyed my pole” story. Sounds like drama!!!

Haha, I’ve been popping open a middle button between my boobs on my work shirts too!

If you look at my pictures you’ll see I have veryyyyy little in the way of boobage, and they aren’t getting any bigger (darn). Must be that muscle thing.

Thank goodness my lab coat covers me so no one gets a free peek 🙂

Everyone progresses so differently! I started out so weak, and now I’m seeing my body transform and becomes so much stronger. Everyone’s starting point will be different, and everyone’s journey will be different. The important thing is that you keep going.

The amazing Polebull posted this on her Instagram and it kind of goes with whatever is saying…

I love Skinny Love too, but I’m a sucker for the original… by Bon Iver.

I tend to like faster songs to get me pumped for pole. For some reason old Kings of Leon songs make me want to dance. Lets see what else is on my playlist. The new Spoon song (do you). Blood Orange (You’re not good enough)… Arctic Monkeys (Do I want to know) is bluesy and sexy.

Then I just have a bunch of booty shaking songs like I’m so fancy 😛

Also these are kind of trendy now but Vance Joy (riptide) and Milky Chance (stolen dance).

Usually I’m more creative, but I can’t think right now.

I think a door way will work for some things if its wide enough… but not for knee tucks, but for twists certainly.

Ok so far so good… Only hiccup is I’ll be traveling and without a pole for a few days later this month.

This only effects day #15 and 17 (16 is a rest day). I’m not sure what I’m going to do just yet. I was going to skip the rest days before it… and then just rest that whole weekend.. but I think thats not best, I like my rest days AND I don’t want to do so many days without working my abs 🙂

So maybe just to the exercises I can do (unless I can find something to sub in for a pole, but I’ll be staying with family in Cincinnati and I’m just not sure how much exploring I’ll be able to do, but It’s possible)… I think I’ll be able to find something to do the twists, roll ups and leg lifts with (a basketball net pole perhaps) but I’m not sure about the knee tucks.

OR maybe I’ll switch the 14th with the 15th, and the 17th with the 18th because the 14th and 18th don’t need poles (Superman, camel, bird dog)

We’ll see, I have time to figure it out. 🙂

Martini sit is pretty… I googled it and found this pic on tumblr…. I feel like she looks familiar though. Sorry someone if I stole your pic.

If you’re comfortable in an elbow stand there are a bunch of leg variations to make it pretty. (I screen shotted this from Instagram, leaving the name for credit)

I agree with a lot of what’s been said.

Personally if I was faced with the same dilemma I’d choose financial security… But I have a family and a home I love, and that’s just the place I am in life. As much as I may love a hobby, having the money to take my family on vacation or buy my son something special for his birthday or being able to save for his college is what really makes me happy.

I agree with what others said and I do think that there can be too much of a good thing. Pole can’t be your escape if it’s your career.

But I don’t think it has to be all or nothing… There is something between being broke/happy and rich/miserable. Finding a job with flexible hours or just good hours might be part of your requirements. Maybe you don’t need that high powered office job that comes with a fancy car and expense account… Even if that’s whats expected of you. It’s ok to not earn up to your potential if it means sacrificing your happiness and time for hobbies or family. That’s part of the reason I work 4 days instead of 5 a week. 🙂

I’m no help as far as this pole goes, but it sounds like you got some good advice.

However I’ve heard its easy to cut a LM pole down to size. I could be wrong,.. But I’d search that. Might be a better option then trying to make that pole not fall. I don’t know!

August 3, 2014 at 7:02 am in reply to: Best crash mat?

I searched high and low for a less expensive crash mat then the YogaDirect one a lot of people have… In the US I just couldn’t find one. I can’t speak to the difference between it and your foam mattresses or anything else…

But I really like my YogaDirect crash mat. I ordered it on amazon (free shipping with prime… And I had a coupon code). I got 4 inches thick. There is also an option for 5inches. I chose 4 because I have 8inch clearance under the bed in that room, so it can fold in half and go under the bed.
I’m pretty cautious and I like having that safety net…(plus If my neck is hurt I’ll be out of work). I haven’t like had a true fall on it, but I have slid down faster than I would have liked… And it was cushy and wonderful.

A lot of ladies here have the same mat. Some people use other things like couch cushions or crib mattresses.
