I do think I saw a video on the x-pole site with expand and contract…
Remember when I was asking you about how to make sure the pole is tight enough but not too tight… I also went to the Xpole site and watched a video… I wonder if I can find it.

I can’t comment on the Xs or bubbling… But is the dirtiness from the plastic wrap?

The TG at my studio gets kind of dirty but always cleans up well. My hands leave a residue on it, like fingerprints. They do on my chrome too but it’s not as noticeable… It cleans off with alcohol though.

I haven’t looked closely at the base in the studio but 2 things that might put you at ease about the base… These are the new 2014 models so that may explain a change in Xs. And maybe the bases aren’t coated the same way because they don’t need to be grippy so it’s not as even of a finish?!? Just a thought.

One thing to look at… Xpole has limited stock. Is your vendor selling things that are not in stock on xpole? If They only have the same few combos of sizes and finishes that is a good thing, probably means they are real. Does that make any sense?!

I hate protien shakes as well… But I love accelerade (orange). It’s not a protein shake, it’s a recovery drink. Thicker than a regular sports drink but not grossly thick.

Anyway, I drank it when I did p90x years ago… And just started using it again. I love it.

I can order Bad Kitty stuff and Xpoles through my instructor. 🙂 She keeps some bad kitty stuff stocked but obviously not everything.

First… I have to confess confess I really never listen to the sound when I watch everyone’s videos. This does make me sad, but I’m usually watching on my phone at work or on my laptop while my husband and I are watching a show. I feel like I miss a lot of the “art” because of this. Which is a bummer. In the context of Instagram and FB I think most people have the sound off so dancing appeals less to those people. Tricks look cool without music too. I still appreciate the dance cause I have music in my head 🙂

Personally, I don’t have Facebook, and on Instagram I follow a few amazing girls from here, Veena of course, my instructor, and another girl I found randomly who is a pole dancing dentist too! So no big names except Veena. On my Explore page I see a lot of pole related things because of who I follow and what I like… Even though my account is mostly not pole related.

I’m not particularly discouraged by anything I see. My main source of pole videos is here (and I love it here). I do sometimes wish I had flow like the girls here. That’s what I get most jealous of. I’ve never been one to dance or have any rhythm.

I do think pole is for everyone. But I also think pole is hard. It’s a sport. And it’s not like something you can just be good at if you don’t work at it or you’re not passionate. Even if you’re a casual poler form is important and all that. I still think pole is for everyone, and there are so many aspects to it… But when people say it’s hard I usually agree… And I think we all work really hard at it. 🙂

The thing I like best about pole is everyone here has something about pole they love. And if you’re a crazy trickster that’s great, if you’re a slow and sensual dancer that’s great too. It’s hard to control what other people will like or share. At the end of the day I guess you need to just do what you love… And you do Veena, and it inspires us all!

I think Shoog just called your jade “viperous”… Maybe you should incorporate Viper in (it sounds so badass). Milla Viper perhaps?

I can see both sides to this…

Everything you all said with is correct and obviously nothing should ever be attempted with incorrect form or unsafely for the sake of a picture!!!!

However I do think “getting that perfect picture” can be a motivating factor for some people. And motivation is a good thing (as long as you’re being safe).

I have to say I did WAY more flags then I ever thought I’d do, hoping for the perfect pic to post on the 4th of July. I didn’t get perfect, but it certainly got me motivated to flag like a billion times!

Ok. I had to drop it down to easy yesterday! No way I could make 151 sec 🙁

The disappointing thing is when you drop it to easy it changes the numbers on all the days you completed to the “easy” times, so I feel like it erased my progress. I was hoping it would show what I’ve done so far, and kind of adjust it, but basically it just makes it like you’ve been on easy all along…

The app is cool, and obviously without it (and all of your wonderful encouragement) I would not have started doing this challenge… So I hate to criticize… But I do think in general there is a lot of room for improvement.

Bummer. I wonder if a powder coated pole would be more suited to your climate? I feel like bikes and cars can handle quite a bit of moisture without rusting.

I’m no good at this kind of thing (why my username is actually my name…) but whenever I’m brainstorming these things I use http://thesaurus.com/ that can spark something.

For me I’m most impressed with how fearless and bold you are. I’m much more timid… and you’re all like “here I am hanging by one leg” 🙂

I feel like the Russian layback was all the rage a few months ago.

I’m not sure I understand the other challenges. There should be more instruction on the app. The picture of the bridge looks like it’s a half bridge, or maybe it’s like pelvic thrusts? Do you need to do a certain number or is it timed?

I wanted to check out the squats challenge (maybe for next month) with weighted squats. Is that # of squats, or do you just do one squat and hold?
