Haha. My new puppy was chewing on my ponytail the whole time. Pretty funny!

Ok, I did the test for 51 sec… Which was pretty miserable. I’m sore in my shoulders from yoga this morning (all those downward dogs) and some elbowstands a little while ago. So I feel like my shoulders/arms gave out before my abs did. I had my husband keep an eye on my form.

Let me know how you’re feeling and what not! This will be fun!

Oh ok, I didn’t know if if like gave you workouts (ie. sit ups, leg lifts) to improve your plank… But it’s actually just doing the plank everyday? I guess that can’t be too much of a time commitment.

Oh! That sounds fun. How much time is it each day? I’ll check out the app.

Also try googling Farmers Walk. It’s basically walking slowly carrying weights by your side… But apparently it’s a great grip and forearm workout. My husband does them and it’s on my to-do list for sure.

I’m so sorry all this craziness is happening. Sounds like you have a great outlook on things.

As far as pole goes…. I really did want to put up a pole outside. I felt like there must be a way to mount one like a flagpole. Maybe a powder coated one wouldn’t rust and have good grip… Or maybe making a mount deep in the ground that a pole can be put in or out of… But the more I started thinking the more complex it became and I just ended up getting a used stage pole on Craigslist for when I want to pole outside. 🙂

Maybe a rig or a used stage pole would work and cost less then a gym membership?!

I’m a pescitarian… And I too find it hard to eat clean. I really wish I could because it does make me feel so much better… But sometimes we’ll go to grab a bite to eat and the only thing for me on the menu is pasta or friend fish. I try and avoid places like that…. But sometimes I’m just hungry!!!!!

I did just talk with a friend today about juicing more (I love juicing and blending) and trying to cut out the crappy foods…

Thanks for sharing your success. Now I feel extra motivated.

I’m in no way doing advanced moves, and I don’t have very big thighs….

But for the plank, I found that you really have to push your hips up and squeeze your glutes. If you just stand in front of a mirror and squeeze your glutes and kind of tilt your pelvis forward you’ll see how the “thigh gap” closes a bit.

You need to do that horizontally on the pole. Raise those hips and squeeze those buns!

Since I’m bored at work I thought I’d give my review of my platinum stages star stand alone. I figured I’d just add to an existing thread…

I had Pollbull over last Wed. and I set up my SSA for the 2nd time ever. I have the EZ connect model. I believe it’s v3.0. It has a 2 foot extender, making the pole about 9+ ft (cap and base bump the whole thing up to above 9 ft clearance needed).

Also as an FYI, I bought it used for what I feel was a very good price.

Set up: So easy. I keep it in my garage in my son’s old wagon (with the sides off, it won’t fit with the sides up) and wheel it out. It goes together so fast, maybe 5 minutes to assemble max.

Break down: everything comes apart as fast as it goes up… With one BIG exception…. The pole. I cannot get the EZ connect joint apart. To be fair I’ve only really tried one time. But I REALLY tried. I even called PS and they gave my great advice but alas… My pole is still stuck together. My arms were very tired from poling at that point so I was going to have my husband try… But I haven’t yet. There is plenty of room for it in the garage as is, but this makes it less transportable, and I’d like to store the pole inside because I am a bit worried about rust.

Base: I’ve only ever used the base on the grass. It feels very stable. The way the (newer versions of the) pole fits into the center stops the pieces from popping up as you walk. Mine fit together great. No complaints. Mine has both black and pink pieces. The black pieces get VERY hot in the sun. Pollbull and I were hopping around on the pink pieces! I feel like the base is very stable. I’m not advanced enough to make it walk, but Polebull was poling way more advanced that I was and there was no movement to the base. I think it being on the grass helped. It might be different on hardwood floors.

The pole: it’s a 50mm stainless. Maybe not what I would have chosen new… I prefer a 45mm. The stainless is nice. It feels stickier then my chrome.. Well it was until I started sweating profusely front the heat. But I really do like the stainless. I’m very happy on that account. It’s stable to me. Again I’m not the most advanced poler but I never feel a lot of side to side movement on the pole. You notice it sometimes on video but I never feel it. Maybe Polebull did, she was definitely doing way bigger tricks. Changing between static and spin is a breeze, it’s just removing or adding a pin. The spin is very fluid, so no complaints there. I’m 5ft 7.5in and have no issues with height but I have the extension.

Overall I really like it. I got a great deal on it, so that’s also nice.

    Hoped this helped someone!!!

My friends always tease that my name is a stripper name.

But off the top of my head… Alexa and Autumn stick out to me.

I wonder if using a starch spray would stiffen them up a bit in the right places… Just thinking out-loud here. 🙂

Bag Lady, I really need practice before giving more advise but here I go anyway 😛
(Well it’s not advise as much as it is a comment…)

Conceptually, it makes sense that it’s easier from Scorpio. Having your hips high and tight to the pole helps get you the right position with the outside leg. I learned this from the floor, but it was harder to “get it” up on the pole, but I never tried from Scorpio! Makes sense, and I’ll give it a try.

Im so anxious to pole again and get it right! I had to call it quits because my inverts started getting sloppy and my arms felt very weak. I knew I’d get hurt if I continued… And today I’m pretty sore and bruised. I’m rubbing myself down in tiger balm and I’m getting ready to go tomorrow!

Let us know how it goes.

I’m dying to get back on the pole and try to perfect it… I just really need a rest day :/
