Hey there! I have a few questions…
Do you teach at this studio or just attend?Do you feel like the fitness classes are more popular then the pole classes, and thats why they have added so many? Or do you feel like the owner is just throwing out ideas and making all these classes hoping something works out?
If they truly are more popular and paying the bills, unfortunately she probably won’t change much.
What specifically are you missing? Do you feel like because the pole classes hasn’t been her main focus the quality of instruction has declined? Do you wish there were just more pole times, or more convenient times? or is it really about strengthening and conditioning as its related to pole?
I get how it would be frustrating to want to take a pole class and look at the schedule and see a bunch of non-pole classes. When I was traveling last year I looked at a few studios and found a similar story. I wanted to drop in and take a regular intermediate pole class, and it was almost impossible to just find a regular pole class on the schedule!
I guess all of that is frustrating as a patron, but I suppose if you’re an instructor there, and you feel like she isn’t putting enough effort into pole classes, and bringing in new students thats also an issue!

Nice! I’m doing a little low key holiday show tomorrow. Hope to have some pics from that!

I have! I was a bit worried about permits and stuff, but in the end nothing we were doing required a permit… So I didn’t ask anyone for permission and just decided to wing it.
No one stopped, and most people pretended not to look (but curiously watched out of the corner of their eye).
Set up a little off the beaten path in the corner, mainly because the sun was blazing and I wanted shade. The stage gets HOT! I also made sure to be far away from the playground where some snoody moms often have play dates….
I’ve never gone solo, usually I’m with some other women, ranging from 30-59 and we all look pretty respectable… 🙂
I’d say it worked out really well!!!

Thanks Veena! Yeah the pike to superman wasn’t really working for me…. But that spin out is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. 💕

Congrats Gena!!!!

Is it possibly you actually injured it coughing? My husband broke a rib from coughing before. People teased and said he must be really weak… But apparently it happens to athletes and people with strong muscles actually… Strong enough to break a rib when they contract… That’s what he said anyway 😜

I have!!!!
I’m doing 2 songs for a halloween performance on the 15th. I’m hoping they go ok. I’m excited to share 😛

Aw! Awesome! Congrats to the winner. Life got sticky over here and I bailed! Sorry I’ve been MIA. Great job everyone!

You know what Veena, I think that’s it! I didn’t make the connection but my legs and hamstrings had been pretty tight and I think I was kind of cheating it and sliding so I it was easier to get them to the pole!
A few days rest has me feeling and shoulder mounting much more comfortably

Her name is heather… but her pole name is romangoddess. 🙂

Thanks Veena. I am enjoying all the new lessons!
Just something else, my in-person-instructor is playing along too. And just the other day she had one of those time-hop pics pop up on Facebook from 3 years ago at Expo… and it was her and VEENA! I feel like this challenge is really coming full circle (hehe, circle… lyra) My online instructor and my in real life instructor and we are all doing this challenge!

It’s weird because I never remember it being an issue before…

Thanks. It’s definitely that I’m not pushing away enough. It’s that transition after I get my legs on.
I actually paid more attention to the feeling. Like I said it’s not a bruise or anything. It’s more like pole burn, or skin pain/tenderness. It’s worse on brass. It’s not a huge issue but I’d like to remedy it if I can switch things up.
I guess I was always focused on scooping until I get my legs to the pole… But never really had a technique after that. I’m actually thinking that I need to go from that rounded scoop to almost the opposite. I think I’m staying rounded too long and that’s adding to the issue.

Thanks Chem. I always enjoy hearing from you. This is the only video I could find on my phone at the moment… https://www.dropbox.com/s/t9o7fb1vh9ysrs6/video%20sep%2013%2C%207%2018%2025%20pm.mov?dl=0
I would say I do not have problem in the reverse as much cause I don’t have to slide really. I start more on my trap already if that makes sense.
