I bought the Iron Gym Chin-up bar yesterday. It’s really easy to assemble and very sturdy. This morning I did P90X "Back & Legs" so I got a chance to use the chin up bar. WOW, I had to use a chair for assistance on all of the back exercises. I used a tubing band in the past. Dreya Weber who is also a cast member in the P90X series is also an aerialist and dancer.

I see the chin-up bar’s in the store all the time. I am going to get one today when I head out.
It would really be beneficial for me.

    Thanks SissyBuns & Venna,
Since I am such a newbie and I just got my pole, I thought this challenge looked doable for me.

I just posted a very similar question. I had to put on my boots to sit on the pole. Thanks for the advice in advance.

The P90X workouts are tough. I use them in a rotation because I do more Yoga and Dance Drills for my body conditioning. I tend to use the "Core Synergistics" the most though. The CDT-Ballet company where I live is starting back with Adult Ballet classes which I love for conditioning. My legs get a killer workout after all those plies and little jumps around the mat. SissyBuns, I can’t wait to see how your journey progresses. Good luck to both of you and keep the Advil handy.

After much researching I am going to get a Platinum pole. I had one of the cheaper poles and they are not safe at all. I actually fell off the pole because it started shifting while I was on it. There is nothing like being afraid of your pole:( I took the cheapie pole down. I cant want to be able to participate in the all pole forums here but I don’t have a pole just yet but I will very soon.

I bought the P90X program when it come out a few years back. I think it’s great set. I like the "Core Synergistics," "Plyometrics" "Yoga-X" and "Legs & Back" workouts the best. I find them to be quite challenging.

    Hi Louisax,
I do a lot of pushups and chats (yoga pushups) to build strength in the upper body. You could possibly try walking pushups, holding planks, or wall pushups Of course, weight training is great but using your own body weight is challenging too.

What a great topic. I signed up for a beginner’s pole class and I learned some safety tips. I just want to get a good pole and teach myself. I will take a private lesson when I feel that I am advancing. I believe there is a teacher in my area who does private lessons but that’s down the road for me and my budget.
