I was surprised to get tix 10 rows back! I wonder if they’ve blocked off the front rows for family or VIP?? I did have to pay some surcharges. I think the surcharge was $7 per ticket bringing my total per ticket to $92. Yuck, so expensive, but I know I’ll enjoy it much more than I would a broadway show. The Charlottsville show made me very happy and this should be even better!!

MemberDecember 6, 2009 at 11:47 pm in reply to: Jamilla’s Art of Pole series and new Routines DVDGatorgirl, I have the AOP series and Tease as well. I think the AOP is brilliant in all ways. Tease, I was not so impressed with. My biggest complaint is that Jamilla seems to blend into the background for much of the video so you can’t quite see what her body is doing. Since I’m a details person, this made parts of it frustrating for me. I also thought the routines were very simple and it didn’t seem like much of a challenge for me. It didn’t have any ‘WOW’ factor for me. Also, I’m a pole addict, so perhaps that’s why this vid wasn’t all that exciting for me. I really did enjoy Lady Morrighan’s vids which I found more sensual. Anyway, those are my thoughts, hope this helps!

Let me just clarify that I’m not judging the stripping profession. I’m cool with it and I love going out with my girls to the strip clubs. It takes a lot of courage to do that and I give them lots of props and tips hehe. My earlier post was just to point out that she holds a title that indicates that she indeed used to do it. No offense to anyone here, I hope! Much love to all strippers and non-strippers!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif Women are just TOO beautiful to be hidden beneath clothes if you ask me!

I have the Tease Daring Dance Routines and I don’t like it very much. Her costumes/outifits blend in with the background making it hard to see her and decipher what exactly she is doing. I’m also not big on the actual routines she teaches. I found them a little boring. I love all her pole DVDs though. I got the code and I am pondering getting the pole routines dvd. I wish there was a teaser or trailer so I could see what’s on it. It says all levels so I’m afraid it’ll be very basic.

I really enjoyed Dophina’s Cardo Burlesqe DVD. She has such a cute, sweet personality. I subscribe to her newsletter and I’m always uplifted when I read it. Flirty Girl Fitness was dissapointing for me. It’s all choreography-based rather than move-based and I find the routines lack sensuality and artistry.

I wonder if it was something I posted?? I love how jante shoes fit me. I find them to be true to size. I have wider feet so they work for me. Pleasers on the other hand are alway soooo tight on me that I usually buy a size bigger than I am.

MemberNovember 22, 2009 at 1:03 pm in reply to: Do-It-Yourself permanent skinny spinning poleIt’s permanent spin, but it doesn’t spin quite the same as platinum stages or Xpoles. It’s a less intense spin however you still can’t execute moves exactly like you would on a static pole. Tightening that screw only tightens the pole to the spinning mechanism. The only way to stop it from spinning according to my husband is to drill a hole into the spinning mechanism and put a pin/screw/nail into it. You could call Grainger customer service and see if they sell a mounted ball bearing flange which has a device to stop the spinning motion.

Kaki, I have a different experience with my 38mm. If I am inverting into a knee hold like scorpio, I find that skinny little pole tucks right into my ‘knee pit’ and my hold is SOLID. If I am inverting say into an aysha and using a split grip, my fingers wrap so tight all the way around it I know I am not going to slide, even a little. If I am doing a thigh hold such as a layback, I do have to sqeeze pretty tight, but I do that anyway. There is less ‘meat’ to this pole so thigh holds will feel different but are still completely do-able.

MemberNovember 22, 2009 at 11:46 am in reply to: Do-It-Yourself permanent skinny spinning poleHere are some pictures. In the last one my fingers point out the entire piece of the flange. It all came assembled and the pole just inserts right into it. The little hole you see on the dark upper ring is the screw that you tighten to keep the pole secure. I didn’t mention it in my instructions, but I bought a larger flange than what was necessary. So I recommend the smaller one I referenced in my first post. The whole thing cost me somewhere around $250.
By the way, the floor piece looks a little daunting BUT, I’ve never scraped myself or hurt myself or anything like that.

OMG, I’ve been referenced!!!! I’m sitting here laughing. Roxy, awww, I’m flattered!!! Yeah, I saw that move in the Miss PD Australia promo and HAD to try it. I just ordered the video this morning and I’m bursting with excitement to see what else is on that little piece of heaven!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
Now I know my form isn’t perfect (working on that resistance stretching to help with flexibility) BUT, the move isn’t all that hard. I was actually surprised by that.

Hey Dragon and Aviva, I’m from Maryland too!! Bel Air area. I’m heading to pole pressure today for the jam. YAY! Can’t wait!!

Hey everyone, I’ve been a big fan of Bobbi for years and I have all her DVDs. I wrote to her a while back about her poles and found she makes her own poles and she told me how to make them. I realized that because she is on a 38 mm pole that the grip is superior for spinning moves and for me, using the smaller diameter pole makes all the difference in nailing the moves. Check out my videos and you can see that I go to my 38 to do all the spin work. The pole was really easy to assemble – I bought two ball bearing flanges and brass tubing and that was it.
-
So I’ve had the DVD a few weeks (only done it 4x) and I also purchased the book. Anyone having trouble following the directions? They don’t seem really clear to me on some of the moves and also, the name of the muscle being stretched isn’t named. I’m afraid I’m doing some of them wrong.
That being said though, I am definitely seeing increases in my flexibility!! Guess I’m doing something right.
That is SO COOL that the rep wrote in to recommend gallbladder #1. I thought the one for the splits was the one in which you actually do the split (put feel on towel on floor and slide feet out to side).
