Hi Vicki, yeah they are in. Mine arrived over a month ago. She covers a lot of material in the video. Floor work, wall work, pole work (not pole tricks/spins, but movement around the pole not on it).

It is a good video. Produced well, packed with moves and tips, music is fine. I do recommend it. But there is one little thing that throws me off. I don’t find her sexy and some of the moves seem ‘outdated’. Like if you went to a strip club 20 years ago, that’s what you’d see. I feel awful for writing that but that’s what went through my mind when watching it.

Bobbi’s Studio has 38mm poles. Super skinny. Spin option only, no static poles. They rig them up themselves. I have one. You just buy ball bearing flanges and the appropriate length of brass tubing to fit your ceiling height. I don’t know if the nightclub pole is the same. Awesome grip!!

This same girl performed as "mandy" in the 08/09 Miss Pole Dance Australia. She did such a good job that year that I was surprised she didn’t place. She’s a fantastic dancer!!

I went to a strip club after I started taking pole dance lessons and had an epiphany:

You can’t collect money if you are on the pole!!!!!!!!!!

Those girls gotta get close to the customers so they can fill up those garters with that hard earned cash!!

Sissy, I went to Gentleman’s Gold Club in B-more on Halloween and there were two girls there that rocked the pole. Then I hit up Excape and the girls had no pole moves. Hit or miss I guess.

Carrie, I feel your pain. I’m wearing that same brace (it makes a debut in my latest video). I wish I could go back in time and not push myself so hard when I was fatigued and not fully warm. I’m going on 3 months and the pain is still present and I am so much weaker. I tried doing my cartwheel mount and I’ve lost it. I’m sad to hear that so long after your rock climbing that the pain is coming back. Boooooooooooo! I hate tendonitis!!!

Hi & welcome! I’m from Buffalo originally and have spent a lot of time in Canada! Burlington is beautiful, I think, since it’s right on the water. I also have a lot of respect for Canadians as I have found you all to be so nice, civil, and fashionable!

Hope to see you around the site!

For us – we take pole very seriously as a fitness regiment

Charley, I love this quote. As the owner at my studio gives a tour and passes through the pole room while I’m instructing this is what she says to newcomers "we don’t take this that seriously here, we just laugh a lot and have fun with it"

That’s probably why we’ve had serious injuries and students saying that other instructors can’t break down moves or say ‘I don’t know how I did that’.

The bottom line is that pole studios are businesses. There must be quality control and safety has to come first. I just think that this field is so new that few people know what they are doing. Owners just hope they can open a place and the talent will show up. Because pole fitness and pole dance studios are in their infancy, talent needs to be trained and developed. That usually comes under a fantastic instructor with guidelines and standards. When pole places are run by non-polers who don’t have that passion for pole or talent on the pole or talent for instructing, pole studios end up sucking.

Charlie, that was awesome! I wish the owner of my studio followed your guidelines!

I learned on a 50mm brass and have both a 50mm TG and a 45mm chrome at home. I really didn’t like the TG at all and ended up selling it. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the 45mm chrome!! You get good grip on it b/c the diameter is smaller.

The owner is making bad choices, obviously. However, she is the owner. I’d mention it once then leave it be and let the chick crash and burn. People who attend her class will eventually complain or just stop coming b/c she sucks. Perhaps then the owner will get a clue. It seems she’s only interested in putting a warm body in the room to keep the funds rolling in for herself. If people avoid that class then the owner won’t make money and then she’ll make a change.

I teach and we’ve had the same thing happen at my studio. It’s really hard to find a quality instructor. I paid for myself to get further training so I’d be better and the owner didn’t give 2 shits that I did that. She just wants someone to make sure that class is ‘fun’. That’s the problem when a pole studio owner is not a pole dancer nor an instructor. They just don’t ‘get it’. Thankfully, the crappiest instructors have come and gone for one reason or another. You can’t worry about the other instructors, all you can do is ensure you teach well and keep your students safe. People will come to your class as long as you are good.
