I’ve only started spinning mode a while ago. I’m really liking it. I think, at least for me, that doing small sessions on spin mode helps me out. The first day, I thought I would be sick, and I only did three rotations. Now I can do about 5 mins worth (all together). The first time I also thought it was scary. But now that I got over that fear, a whole new world of dance has opened up for me. I think that your body just needs time to get used to spinning around, and each time you get less motion sickness. Also, when I do a climb and pull up into it too quickly the pole does spin too fast. So I usually just hold on and stick out a leg or arm which helps right away. I try to focus on ‘getting into the move’ with strength and control rather than momentum or pushing off. This helps me to significantly control the speed of the spin. I have also been trying out moves that I am really comfortable on static with first, before trying it out on spin mode. And some moves can only be done on static, while others may only be done on spin. I am so used to spinning my self on static, so I’m really focusing my learning on how to do holds. Spin mode is so fun, and I’m enjoying my journey. I think that Veena’s lessons are really great because she explains how to do both modes (static and spin) and she gives proper advice as to how each are different. I think that this is another area in pole fitness that develops different muscles that you may not be used to as well. Similar to other factors of pole, I also think that you do need to be patient. 😀

Well, I did what I thought was an extended leg spin, before I saw your clip Veena. (You’ll see what I mean when I post). I’ll be sure to watch your lesson and try it out next time I pole. It looks very pretty!
