I’m totally on the same boat!
I can’t do any spins yet since I’ve only tried to do some today but I’ve only managed to have my feet off the ground for a few seconds.
I think its a mind over matter thing. Tell yourself with confidence “I can do it this time!” And try it.
Even if you can only hop or have it up for a second it helps!

    You can do it. 🙂

The closest pole class around here is 6-8 hours away. I’m shocked that there isn’t one closer.

And I’d LOVE to have the lessons on here but I can’t afford it till I get financial aid or a job.

I just get really emotional when I can’t do things. I’ve been taught as a child that I basically can’t do anything, I’m worthless, and overall a failure. So I’m trying to stand up and force myself to believe otherwise.

    Stupid phone. Ugh

My sob story is pretty much like everyone else.
I’m 22, overweight (I believe I’m fat) 5’7″ 185-190ish lbs, low self esteem, low confidence, too embarrassed to dance alone by myself. I’m also afraid of heights, hate spinning because I get dizzy fast, scared of being upside down.

Overall I’m doing a huge contradiction of what I normally do.

Also doesn’t help that my mom freaked out on me for just the idea of pole dancing.

I can’t afford lessons for awhile so what can I do in the mean time? I’ve tried finding videos of what to do when you are at ground zero but I can’t do hardly any of them. 🙁

If its around your hairline and shoulders/back chances are its your hair!

Try a different shampoo/conditioniar and keep your hair very clean!
Also try to use a different hair spray too/

I'm close to Spokane WA so unless you want to ship it to me but still have it on the cheap side. lol

I sent them an email but no response yet.
Unfortunently I might be too late on this one since it was posted on the 5th…

I'm not sure about the specifications since this is the posting

"For sale – brand new, never used. We took it out of the box long enough to realize that NONE of our ceilings are high enough to mount this. It's the 8'-9' black powder coated pole. All hardware still included – like I said, we only opened the box to realize that it was too long. I had eyeballed the ceiling and figured it was tall enough, but alas, they're 2" too short.

    Asking $175bo. "

I think I can work around the size of it though.

    I'm assuming its the 45mm.

    Ahh I see. Thank you!

I couldn't find any good reviews on the FF pole but I'd assumed it was cheap quality.
There is a Lil Mynx on Craigslist for $175 so I might try to snag that up before posting on the "pole wanted".

I'm not even sure if I can get one. lol

I'm not sure if I even want a spinner since I get dizzy so fast! But we'll see how it goes when I actually do end up with a pole.
It'll be just a hobby anyways so I don't want to spend too much on it. 😛

    Thank you all!

Everyone is so nice here. 🙂

I'll certainly look into everything said about the poles and crash mats. If everything goes right I just might very well get these items for X-mas!
Right now the lessons itself is a bit much since I can barely afford food at the moment. :S

    But thank you again! <3

Thank you both for your replies!

I can already feel my confidence raise from this.

I want to have a pole in my bedroom but it has a slanted ceiling that goes from 9-14'. Is there any way I can attach a pole this way or would I have to make a custom block to attach on the ceiling?
I'm sure my boyfriend will figure something out since he loves creating gadets like that. lol

    Thank you. 🙂

I am willing to screw it into my ceiling. I'd be more worried if it wasn't!

I actually lost 30lbs since last winter so there's that but I still need another 30lbs gone. I got some coosh left. 😛

Also I have several fears that I want to get rid; heights, being upside down, and falling. All of which can/will happen while dancing. I'm doomed LOL

I also have really weak wrists, my left wrist had surgery and can barely lift 5lbs by itself without struggling. Since I'm an artist and my future career will be tattooing I can't afford to hurt them at all but hopefully I won't screw up too many times where they become injured.

And thank you! I would post a recent full body picture but I haven't taken any in a few months.

    Thank you for your reply!

I have a poor self image of myself and thought I was fat even when I was 135lbs! (Bad childhood upbringing) so now that I'm a bit heavier its hard for me to think that I have a good body.

    I want to lose 20lbs (30 max).
I have an hour glass body shape; big hips and DD boobies.
So I don't doubt once I get into it I'll start toning up and having the body I've always wanted.

I'll look into classes for sure.
My boyfriend is all for it but only if its for him and only him. 😛
And I have to continue working out and give him a full strip tease and lap dance before we consider buying a pole. lol!
