Good luck to all of you! This challenge seems pretty freakin hard. Ya’ll are some strong ladies to be doing it at all!

Oh my goodness, what have I walked into? I am terrible at planking and have too much crap going on to properly join the challenge (also it seems hellish)– just wanted to add in @Kate92 I love those dip drawings!

@TropicalPole- No more, You’re scaring me!!! Hehe, but it’s true, better safe than sorry.
@fjwinter- I just posted a freestyle video with a spinning CAR. (to Radiohead) Personally I LOVE CAR, I feel more stable in it than planks. I squeeze the hell out of my thighs. I wonder if it’s not an easier/more comfortable move for people with meatier thighs/butts (if there’s less there, there’s less to grip with? I don’t know). ANYHOW— what I figure might be useful for you is pushing your spin from the ground with your hands. I really like doing that because you’re already in the position prior to spinning rather than laying back while spinning which feels scarier.
Definetly liked tropical exit out more. In mine I’m obviously unprepared. (I was just so happy to be back on the pole after a week or so off!) -
Congrats! Ya’ll are doin a good job!

Whew! Thanks for all the suggestions so far! It looks like I’ll still have plenty to work with without my pole.
@Tropical: I’m together and then start getting unglued and then somehow stay together etc…the actual eviction process here is ridiculous (If you lose at the hearing they give you 24 hrs to get out!) Who on earth would risk that? I feel like we’re taking it into our own hands, and that makes me feel tough & capable. Hopefully this mindset holds up!@Flighter: Extreme chaos does make me get calm (on the other hand I freak out over pointless little dribbles.) I had a bad depression recently where regaurdless of the circumstance everything seemed terrible. Now that I’m out of that, even though the circumstance actually IS terrible I’m just glad I don’t feel depressed anymore! I loovee the jug idea! And the paper plates!!! really creative suggestions!
@Muroo: Me too! I’ve been calling law offices today just to get some perspective. I’m in the deep south of the u.s. and the laws here are pretty awful. Thank you so much for the yoga video recommendation, I was thinking of yoga but there’s so much of it I didn’t know where to start. How long are you on hiatus for?

I’m a painter & people have questioned me a lot as to why the people I paint are not smiling more often. There’s such a huge range of experience between a smile & a frown. Personally most of the stories, music, films I appreciate bend toward the melancholic side. If you check out my videos you’ll hear it in my music choices.
The way I’ve looked at it in the past is…I don’t really need to ‘do’ anything with the happy stuff. It’s the co
nfusions, pains, worries (as you said vulnerabilities) that aren’t as easy to process. It also helps us
to see everything as more integrated…when we can see beauty in the darker aspects of being it helps us embrace living more fully. -
I wouldn’t mind contributing if you don’t mind that I’m not advanced. Either way I’d like to see the final result.

Thanks for posting this, I’m workin on the same (I just posted a video with a bunch of Gemini practice & people have offered really good advice in the comments…not sure how to share it again here…) Practicing from the floor is helping me, as are the lunge stretches suggested under the Gemini lesson. I also find it much easier to get into it from scorpio. Does anyone find that you have to sort of hook your knee down onto the pole (after inverting) Not sure how to explain that really….like your hooking your knee down rather than wrapping it around?

What I did:
-Pack of fake wood flooring (sort of tongue & groove slats that fit together) from Costco, believe it was $30
-piece of wood from lowes (4′ x 6′ since that’s what I’ve got room for)
Using wood glue we laid the fake wood flooring down & covered the wood. Then put it under the pole and…that’s it! Whole process probably took 20 minutes (including taking down and putting the pole back up)
I’m really loving it. My favorite part is putting on socks and being able to swing around with em. I was hoping it would make my pole more spinny, but now I guess I need to loosen it a bit & see if that works.
You can probably see what I built (I meaning bf & I) at the end of the last video I posted. It seems like a good solution. -
Just chiming in; I’ve gotten the same error message. Odd thing is sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. The same video won’t load one day and will the next. I get that same message though.

If you go to my page I just posted a video with a million Gemini practices, I’m struggling with it too. I have noticed the lunge stretches (that are shown under veenas Gemini video) feel really helpful…I suspect it’s got something to do with hip flexor flexibility..keep us updated!

The ‘I’d watch the game with you’ comment IS creepy! It’s a really lame come on. You know something about this guys temperament. He had multiple opportunities to interact with you in real life but chose the more passive route of hitting on you via fb. This means he’s self-conscious & afraid of rejection. So just go ahead and reject him (perhaps through FB? Just send whatever message does the job of saying ‘Back off’.) And you should probably block him, because he’s probably looking through your pictures perving out.

Huh, I’m checking out the cubbie ones and that women seriously looks really happy to sit around in that bra lol
-
how about stripper sites? (snaz75.com) and the likes? you have to be a bit more particular about finding something thats actually supportive, but they have lots of options. $50 for a sports bra seems pretty intense to me.

Just adding one more thing— wear some heels and as you lay back grip the heal of the leg hooking with your opposite hand. It can help you feel more secure before falling back. (if grip is the real issue though this may not help…)
