Mighty Grip is a powder, the others are not. Dry Hands is a clear, thin liquid. Tite Grip is also a liquid, but its orange (or maybe the new stuff is purple?) and is just slightly thicker than Dry Hands imho. Both Dry Hands and Tite Grip dry clear and won't leave a mess. I've never used Mighty Grip, but when I've seen people use it for performances, you can see a small cloud of white smoke in the air at times. That doesn't happen with Dry Hands and Tite Grip.

I get sweaty shoulders! during a really hard practice, I'll suddenly have trouble shoulder mounting due to slipping on a sheen of sweat, its really gross! LOL. I've found that Tite Grip is my favorite for preventing sweat on contact points. I don't love it on my hands, but i do like to rub it on my shoulder to help prevent sweating. if its really bad, I'll do a layer of Tite Grip plus a layer of Dry hands. If you like iTac on your thighs, i would try rubbing in some Tite Grip about 30 min before practice, then use your iTac.

I use Dry Hands on my hands and on my body contact points (knee pit, inner thighs, elbow pit, etc).
I’ve also started using pure vitamin E oil on my hands (after I lotion) to help moisturize and keep them from getting torn up. That’s a trick I learned from a circus friend of mine. (If you try it, a little goes a looong way! It leaves your hands oily so don’t use it before going out or something. Use it before bed)

not sure how winter is in England, but over here it gets so dry in the winter I have to lotion almost daily after pole. after class i wash all the grip off, and lotion pretty much from head to toe. it ends up improving my grip, when my skin is too dry and flaky I can't grip hardly at all!

flexibility definitely helps with pole! Veena's lessons are a great place to start. i also like Alethea's stretching DVDs, Stretching for Pole and Pure Splits.

I don't think you're missing anything, it just needs to be in your elbow pits. it is much more intense than an ayesha, so i'm thinking you just need to give it time to build up a tolerance for it. When i was first learning it, i thought my elbow was already toughened up enough, but i was wrong! I spent a couple weeks doing all kinds of intense elbow holds and spins to build up the strength and pain tolerance for it. I think a good intermediary step, before batwing, is getting a solid elbow grip allegra on both sides. i think you should just give it more time! If you're unsure about your technique, upload a video so we can see you getting into it.
Good luck!!

you can add music to the video on the ipad, as well as subtitles/text, etc. thats covered in the first imovie tutorial i posted. I don't know if you can load videos directly from the ipad to veena. i always move them from the ipad to my computer to upload to veena, but not sure if thats necessary or not!

here you go lyme! hope this helps! (don't mind the ferret, photo bomb part way through, lol. i didn't want to have to re-record everything because of her!)

It’s best to cut unwanted parts from your video before putting the clips into iMovie. Do that in the camera roll/photo app. So if you film an entire practice session, go through the footage to figure out what clips you want. Tap the bar at the top and yellow lines appear that you can use to grab a clip. Once you have a clip selected with the yellow lines, tap the “Trim” button at the top right. make sure to select the “Save as New Clip” option, NOT the “Trim Original” option. If you tap “trim original” you will lose everything except what you have selected. If that’s unclear, I can make a video for that too, let me know!

heres a quick tutorial i made for imovie. if there are any questions you have that i didn't address, let me know!

You’re just wondering how to do basic editing in iMovie? I can make a little video tutorial when I get home from work tonight, on putting clips together, adding music, etc. Or is there a specific editing technique you’re wondering about?

i use imovie, and i like it a lot. i use it on my computer and ipad though, haven't tried it on the iphone!

Taping it helps give you grip while you’re learning. But you can leave it “naked” it you want!
I’m also not an expert, I just started working with lyra. But I read that if you use a tape that does not contain zinc oxide, it shouldn’t have that gummy residue.

I have a couple Stretchibg DVDs and I’ve done veenas lessons. I really don’t understand how people can stretch by watching a DVD, every time! Sooo boring! LoL. I watched them 2-3 times, enough to learn them. Then after that, never watch them again. Instead, I use what I learned to create my own stretching “routine” and watch TV while I stretch. I put routine in quotes because it changes based on my mood and how much time I have. I don’t do the exact same stretches every time. Watch a movie or your fav TV shows while you stretch, it makes it so much easier!!
