Anyway, just turned 42 and started at 39. Feel and look better than I did in my 20’s! My gymnastics back round has def come in handy and Like you all have said I was amazed at what I was capable of doing. Learning some of the more advanced tricks was and is a pure adrenalin rush for me. If I put my mind to it I will accomplish it and nothing could make me happier!Im literally in love with pole and will keep on keepin’ on until ….. 40’s polers, ROCK ON LADIES! Gotta love it when you are the oldest and doing more challenging tricks than someone half our age! Now thats a real confidence booster. Well that and the way my husband likes to watch when I dont think he is!! you are all inspiring and amazing!

This is a great thread in the way of simply getting back to basics of why we all started pole in the first place. We all have our own dream and journey that led us all to pole! To me personally there is nothing more beautiful than to have someone we all look up to allow themselves to be vulnerable just like the rest of us. We put our pole hero’s up on a pedestal which is only human so thank you Veena for reminding us that our hero’s are human. My pole and I and the rest of the world have a conflict of interest where I just cant pole everyday, or workout, or even stretch and it sucks. Veena has got me back into staying motivated to really make the time to pole etc… You all have given me a spark under my ass I desperately needed! So I thank all of you.

A nap does work. After work I would take a 20-30 minute nap and my energy was revived for a good workout. I only do 1 hour of power pole though. If doing a lighter workout like going for a bike ride or stretching it may go 2 hours. A Veena day is about 2 hours because I have to play around for a bit after!! But I’m not pushing myself hard on the pole. I tend to be the opposite though b/c after a workout I am wired for a bit!

I absolutely love the idea of poler pets. Just about every video I watch there is a cat involved some how! I think polers are cat lovers! I am(well animals in general)and I don’t have children so it would be a nice place to share fun pet antics!

Thank you all for the wonderful Happy Birthday’s!!!! didn’t even get one from my brother! lol I had a wonderful day. Question for all…. I had no luck at Bad Kitty and was very disappointed. Am I mistaken that Bad Kitty was a good source for pole clothes? There was a small selection but mostly costume type. I am looking for what I see all you beauties wearing. Simple but cute. Any and all suggestions needed.

Perfect response! That discussion needn’t go any further! I know you had to have walked away from that conversation with a twinkle in your eye!

As you all have stated there are sooo many reasons why I am addicted to pole. As a former gymnast of 20 years I had wanted to get involved in a fitness activity that I wouldn’t get bored with. I was immediately excited when a friend told me about pole. My husband bought me my first month of clases 3 years ago and I never stopped. Pole, for me, was a form of working out that was right up my alley. Vertical gymnastics. A sport that involves acrobatics and dance. I was amazed at what I was capable of learning at my age(39 when I started). At 41 I am in the best shape i have been in for the last 20 years. I was building muscle strength and flexibility without even realizing it because I was having so much fun. Who wouldnt be addicted to that. I (as we all have)learned that pole is not a prissy sport. It takes drive, determination and the bruises become a symbol of what you have accomplished. Kind of like a gold star except their all over your body and purple!! Call us crazy but we dont mind the bruises!!! I personally wear them with pride because I know how hard I worked to get that beautiful bruise!! Enough about the bruises but my point is I am addicted because Its a tough sport that has redefined the kind of person I am. This sport has motivated me with other aspects of my life and I will pole as long as I am breathing
