As long as you have the love for pole, the pole will love you back! You seem to be a determined woman. The most important thing is to have the desire, which you do so dont judge yourself by other peoples pace and progress. Move at your own pace and the strength will come without you even realizing it. Pole Bull said it beautifully.

I have a transition in my routine that is a fairly simple way to get in to the teddy. Try a piroutte in to it. Its a smooth transition when perfected. Some transitions just dont work well because of level of difficulty.

Wow! I scrolled down and read quite a few statements and I am thoroughly impressed. I am a preschool teacher, art enthusiast and addicted poler! I have to say that the professions that all you awesome ladies are performing, is to say the least, a boo to the community of misinformed people who want to judge and label pole strictly as a stripper “sport”! “Pride in Pole”!!!

Thank you both for the response and the advise. The thing that concerns me is I have been poling for over 2 years and am having my first injury now. I have been doing one handed spins for quite some time now and advanced tricks. Actually, finally working on a routine!!! I have been conditioning my shoulders but not so much my wrists. I guess it’s time! Thanks again

Its awesome that you are a new comer to pole! I have been addicted for a little over 2 years. I got my pole after 6 months of training at a studio. All I can say is DO NOT GIVE UP! I know it is hard to stay motivated training at home but it is well worth it. While my classes took a break I stayed on my pole at home and wound up being able to teach myself new tricks and became even more addicted! Stay with it and just picture yourself in an outstanding hold such as the extended butterfly or superman! My illusions of grandeur have actually come to fruition because of being determined and staying motivated.

I wound up with bursitis in both shoulders and in a lot of pain. i finally went to a chiropracter and after about 3 months i was on the road to recovery. I do shoulder conditioning 4 times a day and ice almost every night. Shoulder mount is back and looking real good. Silver lining is I hurt right shoulder first so I was forced to learn shoulder mount on left side!(Cause I wasn’t going to stop doing shoulder mount< my favorite trick!)

I’m new to Studio Veena and i am so glad I found you!! I love this idea, it will get my ass in gear for perfecting some tricks(aysha for example!). I started the 6 weeks to splits last night so that is a goal I’m stoked about as well!
