I have little to no flexibilty, I've never even been able to touch my toes…ever. I've started the six weeks to splits and today is day seven. I've already seen a big improvement in my flexibility. I'm not much closer to the floor but I am within inches of touching the floor during a toe touch and while I'm not much closer to the floor in my splits I am able to square my hips better in a lot of the stretches and the split stretch is starting to feel more comfortable. I'm going to be posting new pictures tomorrow as I start week two and I'm also following the progress in my blog http://www.lapolegurl.blogspot.com
The thing that I've been hearing over and over again and it seems to be truth is that you have to find time to stretch every single day. Every other day or every three days just doesn't cut it. I tried the six weeks to splits thing and it fell off last time after the second week and I wasn't doing a very good job and doing it every day…hence absolutely no success in any way, not even the toe touch. You muscles have to be taught, and unfortunately for people without natural flexibility we will have to continute to stretch every single day after we achieve the splits just to maintain.

I used to work as a waitress at the Spearamint Rhino and none of the girls really knew how to do aerial moves. One girl could hang in an invert and one girl could do a lot of pretty spins but nothing that impressive. Im not surprised given that they work 6 to8 hour shifts and doing any aerial work would be difficult to maintain.

Im no expert on the matter but several women including myself have seen a reduction in the appearance of cellulite from a set of leg exercise that we all do during class. They are simply isometrics done in a sitting position. From what Ive read isometrics are what keeps dancers legs so long and lean looking.
Between these exercises, pole, and small changes in my overall diet, I can see that Im loosing the cellulite in my rear and upper thighs.

I go-go’ed in Seattle making anywhere from 75.00 to 150.00 dollars for two to four hours a night. I really enjoyed it and it kept me in excellent shape, plus I loved the girls on my team so it was like going out with the girls.
During the two years I danced there I never once danced at a venue with a pole. I either cage danced or was on a small elevated platforms.
The outfits are essentially the same but shoes are generally the huge platform moon boots with fur covers. Id definitely suggest dancing on a team over freelancing. It is safer knowing you have a group of girls looking out for you then relying on someone you dont know at all to hopefully watch your back. Thick skin and some basic self defense is also nice, some people arent very nice when they are drunk, and some men need to be reminded with a simple wrist twist that there is a look but dont touch rule! Usually bouncers take care of that but occasionally you might need to take care of the problem on your own.

I also seem to produce too much oil. Recently, on the advice of a friend, I made the switch to a Lush skin care routine and in the first week I saw significant improvement and now a month late the problem is nearly nonexistant. I start with Dark Angels for my face wash, use the Tea Tree Water for my toner (which I also take to pole class to spritz on my face and upper back to refresh my skin), and finally I use Vanishing Creme which is a low fat moisturizer with a touch of Witch hazel. It was initially expensive, 12 for the amount of wash i bought, 18 for the toner and 40 for the creme. However it lasts for ever! I use twice a day, everyday, and i have only used a third of the face wash, even less of the toner, and the creme pot looks like it will probably last, no joke, a year. I love this routine and whole heartedly suggest it to you.

In classes sometimes our poles get sticky because the class before me does a lot of arial work and uses Dry Hands. I find that simpling rubbing the pole down with alcohol makes that problem go away. If you aren't already using the alcohol, perhaps your pole is just a little "dirty".
