I’ve got a few more pics mainly of Jamilla and Sonia, that’s why I didn’t stick them on my profile – I didn’t want everyone to compare my lack of skills to them two!!! Both of them were amazing and I was just standing there in awe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif
But I’ll add some more pics now. Another thing is I didn’t take that many frontal pics of Jamilla. Even though she was nice about it I still felt a bit awkward taking pics of her https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif -
Another kiwi girl yay!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
There’s three active kiwi users on this site including me. The others are PoleGirlSonia and Rouge_LAmour. Add us as friends and we can all help each other out. Where are you from? Im in Auckland. Over the weekend I went down to Lower Hutt to meet PoleGirlSonia and have a pole lesson with Jamilla (who by the way is a really great person). Rouge is down in Wellington but unfortunately I didn’t meet her.About purchasing a pole… I got mine from Trademe at a sale for $250! Yep I was pretty stoked about that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif But it’s a very basic pole. When I have enough money I’ll get an x-pole which you can buy on this website.
Another kiwi tip, the Friday Chat is more like Sat morning Chat for us NZ girls! I have an annoying habit of waking up early in the morning and not be able to go back to sleep, that’s the reason why I’m able to make it to Pole Chat.
Let me know if there’s anything I can help you with. Look forward to chatting to you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Oh congrats Rouge! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
Jamilla was fantastic, so friendly and helpful. I felt nervous around her! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif She taught the Sat intermediate class a dance routine, which I’m trying to remember so I can practise it. Glad I went down to Welly to see her. It’s a pity I didn’t meet you but Sonia is a cool person, really nice. I’ll just use to space to say
THANKS SONIA and STUART for the accomodation and for bringing Jamilla to NZ and giving us a chance to learn from her https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -

Having just come back from Africa, I’ve found a group I’ve fallen in love with and I want everyone else to love them as well. I want them to be famous outside of Africa! They’re called P-Square and they’re from Nigeria. My favourite song of theirs is No One Like You, but I can’t stop listening to their other tracks as well. Their music is quite upbeat so you can work up a good sweat to their songs. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_DJ.gif
Youtube them and see if you like it as much as I do https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif -

MemberFebruary 25, 2009 at 4:27 am in reply to: I think I’m going to be off the pole for a while/permanentlyI’ve had my pole for a while now and I feel as if I should be more skilled, so I totally relate to how you feel about thinking everyone else is progressing quickly. When I watch them, I feel unmotivated to pole and obviously that’s just stopping me more when I’m practising. Thanks Glitterhips for letting me know I’m not the only one! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
This is a real cliche but maybe what we need to think about is how much as an individual we have progressed – that should be our motivating factor. When you post your video, you’re allowing absolutely everyone in the world to see it and of course there are going to be morons who watch you. People who write something nasty know that they’re going to get a reaction from you and that’s just what they want. They’re simply and idiotically drawing attention to themselves and when they get a reaction, they’ll know someone is actually paying attention to them. Glitterhips, stop thinking about their negative and shallow comments and think about how sad their lives must be if they need to post comments on the internet to have some interaction with other humans.
You may not like what you perceive to be your big body, but please keep in mind everyone has body issues. I’m small but recently while on holiday I lost more weight and my most dramatic weight loss was around my boobs. They were tiny before and now I’m almost flat, I can’t fit my bras any more and I don’t even want to think about shopping for new bras because I don’t like the idea of having to go down a size. So at the moment I’m not even wearing a bra. It makes me depressed and I’ve seriously started thinking about surgery now, whereas before it was out of the question for me. That’s my little boo hoo story and hopefully it’ll make you feel better to know someone else’s body insecurity.

I’m having trouble saving because I don’t have a job!!!! But I’m going to try and find some money in my couch, my friends’ couch, my old money box… anything! It’s not just the $70 that’s a problem for me. It’s the flight to Welly, accommodation, food. Also, I will have uni by that time, so I need to see if I have time.
Rouge.. I’m not with a studio, I’ve had a few lessons but I prefer learning at my own pace with my own pole. But, I would love the chance to dance with Jamilla and to meet you pole dancing Wellington girls! So I’ll do what it takes to get there. -
Oh frick! I just spend 2 and a half months in Africa, come home with NO money and then I see this! I wanna go https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
