I also video myself regularly to check my technique against the videos. IMHO I feel that everything is covered. I will probably take classes at a studio at some point to see if there is any benefit from it but I am perfectly satisfied right now. I used to work in clubs and was always injured. Now I know how to prevent that.

Thanks, I feel better now. What are the best exercises for stretching the upper body-shoulders and such? I have totally ignored it with the exception of my wrists, concentrating on strength but not flexibility above the waist.

X pole related?I am not a structural engineer but do know the basics of construction and I would bet my next paycheck that was not from your pole. That kind of cracking comes from the house settling, or some major kind of force. If the neighbor is having trouble closing the door I would get the landlord on the phone and get a structural engineer over there ASAP. Do you live in Florida or someplace that has sinkholes or unstable ground? If you have gas I’d be watching for any smell that would indicate a leak from things shifting. Or better yet, personally I would move. Again, not an engineer but better safe than sorry.

Talk about inflexible, I can’t do the ballerina because I can’t reach the pole with the top hand. It had not occurred to me to do shoulder stretches regularly. Progress, not perfection…..

Also mine this week are transitioning from Gemini to Scorpio and back, repeating over and over with no hands!

A memory foam mattress would be awesome. They are very thick and would certainly break a fall. Can you share which seller you purchased it from? Thank you.

I have acupuncture weekly. If I have a pulled muscle I follow up the treatment with Tiger Balm.

It it doesn’t move and you want it to: use WD40
If it moves and you don’t want it to: use duct tape.
If neither apply, eat chocolate. -
@mystical, I would have to say my diet and sobriety. Did a fair amount of damage dancing drunk and have worked hard to bring my body back. Also I practice meditation and mindfulness for stress.

@KateA, I run an animal rescue and my pole is in the garage so when it gets hot I open the door and piggies make their way in looking for food. It’s an interesting life… When I started I just rescued cats, then included pigs and could not eat meat or dairy after that knowing what they go through. I did extensive research and discovered a lot of commonly-held beliefs are myths like the protein thing, etc. I do take a b12 supplement but that’s it. There are a lot of vegan athletes. I’ve been vegan for many years and health as ever. Colleen Patrick Goudreau’s 30 day vegan challenge is a good book to read. Going to be 49 next month and feel great! 🙂

Lol, I put the pigs out to graze so I could pole in peace. It’s sooooo hot today, I didn’t last long. I credit my progress to Veena and a vegan diet.

Veena, love the video! That is my situation so appreciate it. You all rock, thanks so much!

Thanks so much for the info! I’m not a sweater. Just looking for a little extra help on the back of the knees and hands. When doing combinations I tend to slide down before I’m done. Have found it worse in the summer.

Hi, just wondering if anyone uses this. The website mentioned is no longer up and the itac website doesn’t have any info or a way to buy it so I bought “itac2 extra strength pole dance grip” off Amazon and was shocked to see the tiny thing that arrived. I never used grip when I poled earlier in life (don’t think it even existed) and thought I’d try it now but the website is woefully short on info. What other grip aids to people use? I was just using plain alcohol on the pole and a little on my hands but thought I’d give grip aids a go. Thanks.
