I have varicose veins. Kinda ugly ones, too, especially in my left calf. I’ve been poling for three years – very regularly and energetically for the past two years and I’ve had no problems at all. No more or less bruising; they have been zero problem or concern in leg hangs or any other move. The worse thing about them is the way they look. But, hey, I can’t see them that much. π

Hang in there. It will pass. You’ll be strong again.
One thing I noticed in my own ‘tennis elbow’ experience is that I was over wrapping my left hand and that is what gave me tennis elbow the second time. (I can’t remember what gave me tennis elbow the first time on the other elbow. It was when I very first started poling about three years ago and it was probably also enthusiasm and a mistake in grip/execution/strength.) It seemed like it took me forever to get present – for it dawn on me – what I was doing that caused it the second time.
This too shall pass.
The good news is that your body is a marvelous healing miracle and with all the help and care you are giving it, you will be better than ever before you know it. π -
Thank you very very much, Veena.

Yeah, it’s a bugger. Ice, ice, ice. At least 3x/ day for me; try not to overgrip the pole and try not to make it worse. And time. Lots of it.

@ veena: I’m so not discouraged. I’ve sucked at them for two years now – since I started pole. Lol. I’ve done this challenge straight through several times on my own, too. I figure if I keep persistent action, it’s only a matter of time. Pole is a very interesting somatic adventure. Γ°ΕΈββ’

Me, too. I still suck at side pole hold knee tucks.

I learned a new phrase today: “There’s an extension for that!”
Thank you, Stephanie X Pole. π

Thanks, girls, for your help and commiseration. π

By the way, mystical, the dome’s vertical height measurement is 3″.
-
…I think you might be right, mystical.
Isn’t that funny that they missed the ceiling heights between 9′ and 9′ 1″?
Who-da thunk it. -
YES! I polecat I, that is exactly it. I, too, questioned whether I was mad – “is this real” I thought. Lol.
It’s like 9ft 3/8inch is in this ‘no-man’s’ zone where the fit between 9ft and 9ft 1inch is unattainable. Gosh, I hope that’s not the truth. I need my pole. Without my pole I surely will go mad.
I’ve tried the two combos you mentioned. The extensions supplied to fit 9’are too small, even with the adjuster fully extended and the 500mm extension makes the pole too tall to fit, even with the adjuster fully contracted. I’ve tried both twice – just to test reality. hahaI think I need someone good at the math to tell me what combinations of extensions I need… would that mystical? It sounds like maybe mystical is good at that sort of thinking. ??
I’m good at anatomy. Not math. hahah. If you need anatomy knowledge, I’m your girl. -
I have the 125mm, 250mm, and the 500mm extensions.

The clip with seeing them all at the same time
sorted it out for me. Thanks!
I’ve been doing your STANDS routine 2x/week and I am
slowly improving. The STANDS routine is exactly what I
needed, too. Thanks for being an expert. π -

I can’t rightly tell. -
