I’m about a month-and-a-half in, too, MPole! 🙂
I started by going to group lessons and very quickly discovered that they were way over my head. I’ve been an exerciser most of my life, but the pole makes me look and feel like I’ve never exercised a day in my life!I don’t know if I would have made it this far without discovering Veena’s lessons. They are totally worth the investment. Save up for them if you have to. I imagine that with your own pole (I wish I had one of my own) Veena’s lessons and their systematic approach you’ll be we’ll on your way.
Cheers! 🙂

I kept waiting to see your moves. 🙂

I’m a massage therapist, too. I simply use alcohol on towel for my hands – so far, so good.

gilt1414, that sounds like a good plan – 30min a day, 4-5 days a week. I’m gonna copy you. 🙂

Right now I can barely do a pole hold (as demonstrated in Veena’s lessons). I can make it up the pole for one climb and that’s about it. Now that I’ve got the subscapularis and triceps trigger points settled down from my first fervent week of classes, I can put in place the conditioning exercises Veena offers. My pole studio doesn’t even talk about conditioning. It’s like being thrown in the river to learn how to swim!

I’m curious as all get out to see how long it’s going to take me to “get it.”
Wow, WebJunk, there are a ton of post in that over-40 thread you suggested. Thanks for pointing it out! 🙂 -
