Thanks ladies for all of the suggestions.
@Robin it’s a brass poleI’ll definitely try extra stick grip at home to adapt and I guess I’ll change any slide moves I do to drops in order to get down the pole.
Are you ladies able to spin on a grippy static pole?
@Veena I’ve seen your spins on static vid was all that done on your TG Xpole? -

Yep me too. Now I keep a pole calendar and list what I work on during practise. If I lose a move I can go back and see what I was doing to build up to it which helps me get it back. It also helps to keep me from getting discouraged to know I sort of have a “map” to get back to where I was and that if I just do the same things I did before I’ll do it again.

I use leg warmers and ankle boots made of slippery materials a lot and rely on my arms and knees for gripping. Here’s Leigh Ann Reilly in leg warmers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw3v557NrQQ

I hope the pole world especially those who try to bar strippers from competing and denounce the exotic aspect of pole because they don’t want to be stigmatized or feel it drags down pole in the eyes of the public see that people will ultimately appreciate the skill of the individual. The proof is finally right here.

(I’m pretty certain the dancer with the baseball cap and long black hair is her) I saw her do a back hook spin and a knee spin. Being that it was her first pole lesson I think she did well. I couldn’t even get my legs off off the ground at all or do a fireman spin on my first lesson so I give her props.

When I need to refresh my motivation I look for new songs to download. If I can find something I really like it makes me get up and get going instantly.

I know what you mean about things not looking how they feel. I practise a LOT video taping myself and not using a mirror when I see something that comes out physically different from my mental image – happens way too much. I do it over and over again on video and keep re-adjusting myself (example: focus harder on extending the leg or really exaggerate the hip at this point etc) until I train my mind to know how doing the move actually feels as opposed to thinking I’m doing it when I’m not.

However it was posted in January 2013 so you the video's creator advises you to read the description because it contains an update on August 2013. I haven't tried it but one comment from 3 weeks ago said it helped. There are other comments saying it didn't work but I don't know if they applied the update or not.

I would try Ebay or Aliexpress. You will usually get low to no shipping there.
