I like all the ideas. Maybe the changing area can be a screen that you fold and keep to the side when not in use or a curtain to pull across the corner so it can be pulled back after the changing is is done so it only takes space at the beginning and end of classes. Being nice to neighbours (no matter what) won't hurt. This will also show the manager that you are level headed which helps your credibility and what about a surveillance camera?  I've heard some are not so expensive. This might deter the other businesses from exaggerating about disturbances and you won't have to worry about he said/she said.

Jenyne is awesome. The first time I saw this was from Doninic Lacasse, maybe that's where she got the idea? He does it at 15sec from a flag here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xABwi9r7m7w. There was some older clip of him but I don't remember the title.

I'm with the others. I'm glad you decided to post it. You are talented so why not share it with everyone? 🙂

Thanks for the tips guys. I will try to break them in. Just in case anyone else is having the same problem and wants an instant solution: I read on a ballroom dance forum that adhesive mole skin found in walgreens or walmart makes them slippery on floors.

Hi I didn't read all of the post so if I'm just repeating skip over me… The first and only time I fell from the pole was doing the CAR. Veena's tip of turning the knees in is what made it solid for me. It feels very secure now and I haven't had a problem since.

This pole dancer, Saphirecatzeye whose channel I'm subscribed to had red hair and went platinum and made a video with tips.

A few days ago I read this thread https://www.studioveena.com/blogs/view/Holy_Crap__Is_that_leg_mine_20110712075038 The poster wrote about a type of technique that helped her injury.

I also recommend the lessons. I started with the 30days to see if they would work for me and will upgrade because I've really benefited from them. My pole is a platinum stage multi piece – top loading. Others here say you can still order it that way instead of bottom loading by making a nice friendly request. It is removable too. You can do searches on poles from this site. Use key words in the search bar like: Xpole, Platinum stages and Lil Mynx there are many different opinions and advantages and drawbacks to each so read up as much as you can before making your choice. Once you get started and take the first step you will be surprised at what you will accomplish. I https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif pole dance.

Okay I just got this (5 minutes ago) Yay! – Not solid yet but at least I know I can do it and I finally have something to build on. Don't get discouraged it seems you have to keep tweaking things as you go along and repeated trying strengthens you to get it eventually it also starts to hurt much less. For me I had to have it in my head to push my whole upper body back. Before when I was focusing on the hips it still wasn't enough. When I watched back a video I saw my chest caved in. So I put it in my head to push all of the upper body and not just the hips until I felt like I was going to start swinging backwards and that worked for me (don't know if everyone just does this automatically but I guess my posture isn't so great). Also I don't know about everyone else but my bottom foot has to go on top to help lock. I saw Reiko on youtube with her bottom foot behind but I can't hold it like that (yet!) I also would like to learn how to do it unhooked when I get better at this.

Here is her video – I just love what she does at 5:40  🙂  – A new goal for me!

I have a PS pole and like Masked Loopy and Cocoa it loads from the top. I don't like the looks of the ones from the bottom because of the ridge sticking out.  I also love the way mine switches back and forth seamlessly from static to spin. This is what made me hesitant for an Xpole (reading others having trouble on spin mode because the pole unravels or something like that – someone can correct me please if I misunderstood)

Also I did have the issue of the threading getting stuck and initially not even fitting together because the threads would not align. I bought it through my pole studio so I didn't have to deal with PS cust. serv. My teacher helped me with replacing parts. Since then no problems and I really like it.

I'm not sure personally but the six weeks splits program says it should go to the side:

There are two ways of doing them you can either have the foot and knee of the back leg facing the floor or you can have the foot and knee pointing to the side and it is the second way that you should do them.

    Why?

For three reasons, one being that if you choose the first method you place the back leg in a position were it automatically wants to bend at the knee and if your back leg is bent you can not do a proper full splits. This habit can be overcome through training but it is easier and quicker to adopt the foot to the side technique.

The second reason is simply that your back leg slides a lot easier with the foot pointing sideways than it does with the foot pointing down towards the floor as the toes tend to dig in to the ground and make it harder to slide.

    And

The third reason is that when it is time to start practicing isometrics whilst in the splits position you will find it a lot easier to maintain your balance with the back foot pointing towards the side.

I'm going to have to try some of these tips.

Masked Loopy thanks for the link to Karol's vid

Runemist I can see why Michelle is your favourite. I love her style. I saw a clip of her on youtube from one of the talent reality shows (I forget which one) but Brandy Norwood was a judge and treated her so unfairly but Michelle kept her composure the entire time.

Now I'm off to shake what my Mama gave me (she wasn't very generous though 🙁 lol)
