Well, as you said at least she was honest about it. She could've easily been a sneak about it and just came in to take classes until you caught her. But you are not wrong. Purely from a business standpoint, you cannot allow a competitive business to potentially come in and steal your business which is basically what she would be doing. As a certified instructor, she should be professional enough to realize that she should contact you in advance to see if you have a policy concerning teachers from other studios/gyms coming in to take your class. It's the professional and ethical thing to do in my opinion. Since her gym is so close, it would not be wrong of you to say, I'm sorry but we have a policy that does not allow other instructors to take our classes since we have original choreography that is exclusive to our studio.

It’s more near the armpit area and it’s not super tight. You tuck really tight and lean back and try to look back as far as you can. Watch veena’s video and it will seem more clear.

Sorry, I hit save by mistake 🙁
(1) keep your grip lower, about chin level or just above the shoulder. I used to grip too high and therefore needed more strength to pull myself up. (2) Make sure your hips are in front of the pole when you step forward.
Basically, when you grip your pole and step forward, you are going to kind of tuck the pole into your arm and side. I think there’s a little contact with the pole and my armpit area as this keep me from sliding down when I tuck. And when you tuck use a little momentum (no kicking!), just tuck really hard and lean back as you do it. Watch Veena’s video on this again and look for these points. She mentions it, but I never really noticed it until I finally realized what I was doing wrong. -
I still struggle with my consistency on this move but I find I nail it often if I keep in mind these two points. (1) keep your grip lower, about chin level or just above the shoulder. I used to grip too

I had the same problem with my pole sit – too much flailing around. What did the trick for me was switching hands to see which was more comfortable and as someone suggested, point your toes upward. So you’re in your pole sit, extend your legs toward, then lean back and point your toes and legs upward toward the ceiling. This puts you in a better postiton. When you’re comfortable, just bring your knees back towards your head, you don’t need to extend your legs. And if you feel solid, you can try extending your legs.

I work less than a block away and can pop out for a bit. Are we wearing Veena shirts 😀 ?

Ikea! I bought mine over a year ago for $99, so I don’t know if they still have that model. But there is one on the site now called the Hemnes and it’s approx 65″ X 30″ and $99. It’s a big full length mirror.

Oh so sorry for the late reply. I think Paypal would be the best method.

The whole set is available, but shipping has to be pretty expensive for a 55 lb box. I checked on the Fed Ex website and using their calculator, it will be approximately $65 to deliver it by ground transportation. I don’t know if that includes any kind of insurance.

Oh my gosh guys. So sorry for the late reply! Been so busy lately. I would really like to sell the whole set together. If I sell the 45mm then I will just have set of 50mm poles, and vice versa. And I don’t know what to do with just the two poles and no base plates.

If X-pole won’t ship, maybe you can buy a used one? I bought one from eBay and one from an authorized vendor both new, but they both shipped directly from the X-pole warehouse. But the seller of used one might ship it to an APO address – I would do it.

MemberJanuary 11, 2010 at 3:53 am in reply to: STUPID GIRL I AM – I THINK I WANT MY 45mm back!I had the opposite problem. I started on a 50mm and thought I would get a better grip with the 45mm, so I sold my pole, and bought the 45mm. After two months, I just couldn’t get used to it so I went back to the 50mm. If you have an xpole, don’t buy a whole other pole. you can just buy the 45mm main A&B pole, plus the adaptor. All the other pieces are universal. I think it will cost you $150-170. The adjustor cover is an extra $10. Good luck!
