Nice forum, Thanks for sharing this info. It is encouraging…I am down 15 lbs in the last but 7 weeks ….still would like to lose about 70-85 more lbs so I have a ways to go.
Just been cutting back on the portions, eating when I am truly hungry. Drinking half my body weight in tea and H2O.
Poling, and working out like walking as much as I can even extra stuff like walking the cart back to the grocery store, taking stairs versus elevators or escalators.
Eating more fruits, veggies, cutting out the dairy because I have an allergy sensitivity to it. cutting back on fried foods
And using more spices and herbs like tumeric, cumin, parsley, basil, instead of salt. Olive oil instead of other oils. These are some of the things I’ve done but it is great to have the shared info from others. I will keep yall posted too.

I almost decided to drive to NYC, but I ended up buying bus tickets. I’m just over 3 hours away from the city, and round-trip tickets were $80 through Greyhound. Pretty good deal considering I’d be paying at least $60 in gas just to drive there and back, plus the hassle of finding parking… and I was planning on taking cabs in the city itself anyway because I don’t dare drive. I’ve only been there once, and it was scary just watching the traffic. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

And yes, the hotels are expensive… that’s why I started the Travel Buddies thread, so people (including me) could find people to stay with and help split costs. Maybe there are still some people looking for roommates?? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

    foxy and sissy,

I was thinking of driving there too but it seems it may be cheaper to fly.

hi amyxshi, yeah central park is huge …

    the address:
    230 W 101st St
    New York, NY 10025
    United States of America

ok, that’s only a few blocks from my apartment and within walking distance (6 blocks- 5 minutes) of symphony space! your’e also very close to the 1/2/3 subway line which will take you to NYPD. i would say it is in a good location, it’s definitely a safe neighborhood too. i looked at the website quickly and it seems like a good deal! just keep it mind it seems more like a hostel than a 3-or 4-star hotel, one of the pics of a private room had a ceiling fan in the shower https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

thanks Amy. Oh and I see the pic you mentioned https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I think that is actually a reflection off the glass of the shower. And it is a hotel and hostel. But I was thinking of the private room and private bath. I am still keeping my eye out and trying to decide because I am not sure what my hubby will do while I go to the comp because I wasn’t sure if men are allowed and if he would be the only man there LOL He is supportive thank God LOL

Still hoping to come but will be staying at the broadway hotel that’s less than a half mile away from central park and the theatre where the comp will be held. Will anyone else be near this area?

cream– central park stretches about 50 blocks high and 5 blocks wide right in the middle of manhattan… so being half a mile away doesn’t mean all that much https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif . what is the address?

staying near laguardia or bklyn would be okay, but then you’d be going 45 mins each way (or $40 cab) to go back there whenever you want to change, shower, drop off stuff etc…. i would personally recommend against it.

Hey Sissy and all, I wondered the same? I saw another hotel that’s $99 or so called the broadway that’s right up the block I’ve been to NY but usually I stay near laguardia airport or somewhere in brooklyn with friends. I really prefer to pay less than $600 also but didn’t want to be too far from the comp. Did anyone see my earlier post?
