Milani eye tech liquid liner (the little gold pen-looking one) is a great cheap alternative to MAC if you’re on a budget. I have the same prob as PoledanceABC’s but even between my oily skin, single eyelids and living in Asia where the humidity is always super high, it still lasts all day.

I just used rubbing alcohol from a pharmacy on mine. Seems fine..

I just got a 45 brass X-pole, and I go to a studio that uses 38 brass too. Still getting used to it cos I’ve only used it a couple of times so far.
I find that more arm strength is required to lift on 45, but that’s good training in the long run!

Hi Runemist34,
Try making baby steps! If you sleep at 4am, it’s hard to suddenly sleep at 11pm. Just aim to wind down and sleep by 330am first, then if it works, go for 3am, etc.. The point is to be kind with yourself and not put too much pressure on. Hope it helps..

Good for you! I didn’t know what to expect from my parents at first so I brought it up as nonchalantly as I could to my mom. She wasn’t phased so I thought I’d show her a practice routine video which has some floor work in it. I held my breath cos she was quiet throughout, then finally she said was, ‘wow, I’d never have figured you for a pole dancer… you really hoist yourself up there huh?’ Lol

How about demonstrating some safe emergency exit strategies, like how to save yourself if you accidentally fall or slip out of an inverted move?
It’s not a ‘move’ per se, but I’m sure it might come in useful at some point! I’ve read some people talk about the correct way to tuck and roll out of a fall, but I haven’t seen how to do it anywhere.
And I’d love to see spin mode too.

Oh, and definitely try using a slimmer pole!

My right wrist got pretty badly twisted when I first started learning on a static 50mm pole. I didn’t know how to hold the pole correctly and kicked off into a spin. My body flew into it but my hand stayed in place and wrapped round the pole instead and the pinkie finger side really hurt! My wrist is definitely less than 100% now after almost a year.
But the good thing about having a weakened wrist is that it keeps you very aware of your form and how much strength is really required from it. If your arms, shoulders and chest are strong enough, your wrist won’t have to work so hard. Which is why I’m working to build up my weak upper body strength!
So my advice is to learn the correct way to hold the pole before trying any moves, wear a wristband for support and to keep it warm, and build your upper body strength. It’s still possible to learn pole even with a wrist issue. You just have to be more mindful. Have fun! 🙂

Maybe its timing? The day after an intensive workout I’m usually stiff as a board and it takes another full day to get normal flexibility back, depending on how tight the muscles feel. If I stretch too much during yoga, I’m stiff the next day too.

@Ivygirl726: Its my left hamstring thats really tight, both hip flexors are very flexible. I’ll keep working on it, thx!@Curious: good point, the routines I’m taught all tend to split of the right so far!
I suspect the imbalance has something to do with how hyper extended my right leg is. When I touch my toes, my right knee bends further back than the left. Maybe if I stretch the left leg enough, one day the hyper extension on both sides might actually match. LoL!
