I loved the part about not having to make everything look amazing and sexy and stuff! I let that hinder my motivation to just go dance!..cause I can't get up sexy LOL So I need to remember that! Thank you for the tips!

MemberApril 9, 2013 at 11:22 pm in reply to: I’m a new mom, working almost full time with a 6 month baby..how do YOU fit pole in your day?Oh thank you both! Yes that does help, and it helps inspire me that it can be done. Serzi I really appreciate the time you put into sending that long response! I am a new mom myself, and until recently was the sole bread winner, I am still the main "bread winner". and I'm the "full time mommy" and my baby knows it LOL (and I like it that way 🙂 ). and yes it makes for a super busy day, so I appreciate you taking that time to respond! I think I've just been doing the all or nothing.. I can't find that 90 min of just me down time like I could before baby…and I so I end up just doing nothing.. by the time she's in bed for the night I"m pooped, or it's time to pick up and clean..and and and.. ya know? I think I pulled something cause I was trying to do some stuff without a good warm up.
Would it be effective to do a good warm up first thing in the morning, then incorporate her with me in "off pole workouts" off and on through the day to stay warmed up, and then would I be ok to just try a few spins as I pass by my pole throughout the day? Or would I not stay properly warmed up and stretched?
And yes, just 20-30 min is better than nothing, and I can try just making a point to hand her to my husband and say "I need 30 minutes" I swear it seems when I try to do it before she wakes up, or while she naps, it's like she knows! And she wakes up early, and I hate just getting started and not being able to finish. But maybe i Just need to learn to be more flexible.. Pole practice doesn't have to look a certain way I guess. and I"m slowly learning how to have my life WITH a baby….ya just do things a little differently, and it's definitely an adjustment.
Thank you both for your ideas!

MemberMarch 9, 2012 at 11:00 pm in reply to: advice on how to improv, and just dance. Those were all incredibly helpful responses! Thank you! Yes, ok.. I am just going to go start moving! lol Leap of faith! I think I have an idea… start by doing a few things in the mirror, thought out so I see what I like and how I feel when I do it. Then turn the lights off AND go blindfolded…then take theblind off with dim lights…then by then I should be feeling pretty comfortable and I could go to recording 🙂
And Rosemay, that is a great idea for showing family…I can't fight it I guess…somepeople will just unapprove of pole dancing…even freaking pole FITNESS! lol… but this is for me anyhow..and I don't need my family to "think" I'm amazing, for me to FEEL amazing lol. But I do like the idea of doing tricks and editing them…
Thank you everyone!

MemberMarch 6, 2012 at 5:41 pm in reply to: Just Got Back Into Pole Post Partum 9weeksHi guys. I'm new to the site but have been following this threat. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I'm hoping to keep improving on my strength and pole skill as long as I can. I'm hoping I can still build a lot of strength before I have to take it too easy ont he pole, then hopefully maintain the muscle till I can get back on after the baby. Any suggestions from experience on how to continue my pole journey? I'm fairly new, and just now learning how to climb a little, haven't done inversions yet, so I'm thinking focusing on strength and refining what I can already do, maybe progress a little in skill level…and just try to keep my strength up so when I'm ready to lose the baby weight that I still have yet to gain it won't be like totallyl starting from scratch. I'm overweight so I know I can't focus on weight loss, but hopefully focus on strengthening the muscles I need, then with weight loss after the baby my progress in pole will go fast.
I also have the spinning X-Pole. For just a little more than the static I can have the choice of it being a spinner or static. I want to get a second one in a year or two and have them up together in my living room, kepe one spinning and one static then I can have a ton of variety as I get good at this 🙂
