I bought an Electra pole first. My floor lamp was more stabile. Sent it back and bought an xpole. Didnt even wanted to touch that unstable electra! 🙂

Also, when doing the sitting V stretch, I found it to be helpfull to sit in a V with a pole between my legs. That way I can grap the pole and slowly pull my self further down. Its easier then having to use my hands on my back.

I have that same problem!! And its so frustrating because you see all these beautiful poledancers just reach their legs and knees close to their upperbodies. I found out that its my hamstrings thats the problem. If I bend my knees and sit in a V, I can go all the way down to the floor with my upperbody. If you can do that, I think its your hamstrings aswell and then it is a flexibility problem. Veena told me to foamroll, and then use these 5 stretching lessons (theyre in order) start with https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4de63270-34c8-4e99-9706-02410ac37250 and finish with https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4de63270-34c8-4e99-9706-02410ac37250

I hope it helps! I feel alot of progress after doing this for a couple of months, twice a week, Im half way down.

I used the tacky ones for a long time. I LOOVED them 🙂 The ones without didnt work for me. Recently I discovered that I had worne the tacky ones out (the tack was almost gone, after a year of using them everytime) Because of that I found out that I am now strong enough to pole witout gloves, wich was my goal. I definetely hadnt gotten this far without them.

Hi 😀 Welcome to the site. Im sure you will be a fellow pole-addict as soon as you get your own pole!

Smart move with saving up! I bought an electra pole at first, but when I set it up, I saw that my floor lamp was actually more stable (no kidding!) So I ordered the xpole after that. Like Lyme said, this is really a great place to learn. You have so many great lessons here and you can always ask Veena when in doubt – or others on this site. Everyone is very supportive! You wont get that from a cd. I hope to see more from your pole journey soon 😀

When I grew out my hair, I came to a few points where I wanted to just cut it too. (when it hit the shoulders and again when it had to grow past my chest aeria.) but instead of doing that and regreating it, I colored my hair. It helped and made me feel like my hair was brand new. I think its because it takes so long and you just want that change now as when you go into a hair salon. 1 hour and you got a new haircut. Color it instead! 😉

Yes. I suffer from anxiety wich lead on to a major eating disorder. When I got my pole over a year ago, my weight was on 70 pounds and was ordered on bedrest. I couldnt pole for six months. But everytime I had to go to the kitchen to try and eat, I would pass my pole and get motivated. It was really the only thing that made me want to kick my anxiety and eat. I know wheigh around 90  pounds and Im still working on getting higher on the scale, but I have now been poling every week for six months. It really has helped me alot 🙂

I have hypermobil elbows aswell. In the beginning when split gripping, I always went into kind of an oversplit. (didnt hurt though) but it made my grip unsafe and hard to hold my body up. I learned to really thigten my arms to make a straight line. It took some strenght, but split grip is what I do best now. You just have to take it slow to not cause injury. Now Idont even think about it, I just know to keep the arms in a straight line.

  • My Xpole dome is metal too.

    Update

Its going in the right direction now. I've trained 2 times this week, doing my third today or tomorrow. I've been doing sidesplit-middlesplit and back mobility routines this week. I've perfected my scorpio. This last month I have learned the butterfly (rough) and reverse grab. Just need to keep it up! 😀
