Absolutely! I did a routine for my husband after 6 weeks. I didn't know a ton of stuff, but I had about 5-6 spins to use, a few tricks, some sexy walk and pole body wave stuff, and mixed in a little up close and personal lap dance type fun. He loved it, and even if I learn to ironx and all of those awesome advanced tricks I'm sure he'd prefer the sexy dance- he's not interested in being impressed by strength moves at that point LOL!!!

LOL Serzi, I have to disagree on the bread. I LOVE IT! I will keep bread in my diet up until 3 days out from a figure or bikini comp- at which point I am on No Carbs anyway 🙂  It has never held me back, but people respond differently.

Jolene, don't get discouraged. Weight loss can come in big drops, then plateau, then will drop again. If your diet and exercise are good stick with it. From the posts on this thread you seem to have good nutrition choices. Make sure to get in plenty of water because that will help clear out the extra junk.

Hormones are a big factor and the few days leading up to the start of your cycle, and during ovulation can cause several pounds of water weight to show on the scale. If you weigh in every day you should mark down your cycle date (CD) with it. Track it for 2 or 3 months. That way when you are later only weighing in maybe once a month (or week if you feel the need to) you can see if it is just hormones.

When weighing in often you have to take hormones, hydration, sodium intake from previous day, carb intake, etc….. It is a pain and it really isn't that effective unless you are weighing in under the exact same circumstances each time. Too many fluctuations and variables to be reliable.

    Hang in there!

Serzi, your point about the cheerleading is excellent! These are young underage girls in tiny clothes showing off their stuff. Add the dance element of some teams and you have teen (and tween) girls hip thrusting and grinding to sexy music. That is acceptable in our society and pole as a sport isn't? The more i think about that, the more disgusted i am with it.

I had to take a week off from pole due to sore fingers, but i did some practice on flag on Monday.  My original first try i could barely hold my body out even with my bottom knee pressed against the pole (per Veena's beginner pose in the flag video).  On Monday i was able to hold my body out with my bottom knee bent, but not pressed against the pole.  Yay for progress!  I just need to remember to practice it each time i pole. 🙂

    1. I love my hips. I make an awesome hourglass in a formfitting dress and have been complimented many times about it.

    2. I love my long hair!  Just had a major color fail today with it, but it'll work itself out 🙂

    3. I love my triceps. Funny sounding, i know, but my biceps don't get big, yet i can see my tri's and love it.

    Pole:

I love that doing pole has taken this landbound uncoordinated klutz and turned her into a floating, graceful dancer.

I love my caterpillar and feel oh-so-sexy doing that move!

I love my fearlessness that allows me to try anything on the pole.

I will admit that i feel alot like Veena described. I am so inflexible and i know it makes many of my moves look blah. Im working on it, but it is going really slowly.

I have the vaulted ceiling mount, but I think all of the lil mynx poles attach to any of the lil mynx mounts? LOL, sort of a statement question there.

9' 6".  I love it, and will love it even more when I get the ceiling fan down and install the recessed light instead LOL!

Fun thread! It's a bit hard to remember exactly, but will try to gauge an accurate measure of the pain for the FIRST time feeling these.

HSG to check for tubal blockage- 10. Yes, worse than labor. I cried.

    Waxing bikini – 10

Childbirth- 9. Wait, lets make that Labor 9, until the epidural. Then it was 0, and actual birth was more like discomfort than pain.

Superman (simply practicing from the floor)- 9 for the burn pain AND the pulled groin feeling after practice lol.

Novicaine shot in roof of mouth for removal of wisdom teeth- 8

    Fractured fifth metatarsal – 8

    Waxing Legs – 8

    Knee Hold – 7

Yearly Pap – 6 (have a tilted uterus, hate the speculum lol)

Cramps during a bad month- 6 (thankfully rare now that i'm older)

Dropping waterbed frame on foot- 6

Smashing my face against back of bench while jumping from bench to bench (cut open my eyebrow area, chipped a bit off the bone in my nose)- 3

    Pole Sit – 3

    Elbow Grip- 2

    Bellybutton Piercing- 1

Right now i practice mondays and fridays for about 90-120 min. The first two weeks i got the pole i tried 4-5x a week and realized i would injure myself if i kept that up. I would like to work up to mwf eventually.
I am trying to figure out a good schedule now because i am used to working out 4-5x a week but it was leaving me too sore for pole. upper/lower lifting split isnt meshing as well as i had hoped.

I am not an expert, but i love my lil mynx! I like that i can just take it down and put it away since the only place that is big enough in my house is the family room.
I have the powder coated, which i chose so that it wouldnt be so slippery. I still am slipping though, which i attribute to being new and not having a perfect grip yet.

I love this, because the thing i want to do most is a flag! Ive wanted to do a flag before i even ever knew of pole dancing fitness. I used to see pics and videos of guys doing flags on workout sites.
So, for someone who has only been doing pole for two months (but consistently lifting weights fairly heavy for 7 years), what would be the first flag type to try? I know i can’t do a full one yet, ive tried! I havent tried any variations yet. Which variation should i go for as my first goal? I will do a full someday!
