Hi Autumn, you’ve asked a good question there. It can be tricky because the thought of pole is of course going to be “exotic dancer” in the minds of people who havent been exposed to pole fitness. You should share with some of your friends and let them know how much you love it. God knows you, He knows your heart. What others think doesn’t matter much.
I’m not saying to just shove it in someone’s face lol. I just mean that we don’t live to please others, even in our church family. If people think badly of you for enjoying pole, then you may want to look elsewhere because those are not people who love you. You are not doing anything bad. But i bet they will surprise you. And even if they think it is odd they will still love you for you.

i like mine too! I just pop it off and put it up on the plant shelf in my room when i'm not using it. That's the only place long enough to store it where it doesn't get in the way LOL.

I have a black lil mynx, the smaller one because i have small hands. It is very sturdy and i couldnt even imagine having one snap in half since it is all one piece (besides the small extension at the top to fit the ceiling height). Ive been swinging all over and am completely confident in its ability to hold up.
I went with the coated because the site said it was more grippy. Even so, i still slip down. Im sure that will stop as grip improves. It just takes time.
The best reviews i read were for xpole and lil mynx. I saw lots of warnings to stay away from carmen electra and my little pole.
When we installed the ceiling mount we stripped one of the screws. I emailed lil mynx and they shipped new ones out immediately, no charge. They were very nice.
Being in customer service i know that many complaints are “operator error” so i try to balance good vs bad reviews.
Spend a decent amount of money once, instead of spending twice. :). Hope you find one you like!

Sensual- your arms will get smaller as you burn fat. Right now you are gaining muscle from your activity but the fat hasnt burned off yet. This will initially cause you to gain size. Just like a steak, our muscles have fat marbled within. It needs time to get burned off. Keep building muscle, you will not get like a man, women do not have the testosterone to build that big without steroids.
High rep/low weight wont do much for you. Lift moderate to heavy. 6-10 reps. It will give you gorgeous shape, not manly at all.
Shirts will still not fit properly though. Most clothing is created for skinny girls, not healthy fit girls. So expect tight across lats and squeezing the arms at shoulder/bicep because you will really be building some awesome upper body with what you are doing. But that is a good thing! 🙂
Here is a great article on building muscle. http://buffmother.com/free-help/articles/muscle-burns-fat

I did inverts on my first time on the pole. Spins made me dizzy so i worked on climbs and inverts instead. I am strong and have climbed trees and swingsets and hung upside down all my life though lol.

Mine is in the family room and i ahve to slide a cocktail ottoman and rug out the way each time. The pole goes up between the ceiling fan blades, but the ceiling is almost ten feet high so it doesn’t get in the way. My floor is carpeting. When i’m done with it i stick it on the plant shelf out of the way. 🙂 . Would love a room to put up a permanent one, but i don’t have the space for it.
