I too sustain massive bruising and soreness but it is getting better. Be sure to give your body down time. It is when we work our muscles and then allow them to heal that we gain strength and make improvements. You can over do it and that will set you back in any type of workout. It can also make you physically sick because your body gets so broke down that your immune system is affected. Good luck! Arnica Gel is great for bruising and soreness!!

Finished radiation end of March 2013 and started back six weeks ago. Was a beginner poler and lifted weights before diagnosis and had to quit due to surgeries and treatment. Haven't been back to weights, just running, Zumba and poling seems to be going okay. At times the area gets sore but I take care not to over do it. Just make sure that you are healing well and take care of arm affected by surgery. I find the soreness around my scar tissue and the numbness in back of my arm and underarm more bothersome than anything. But I am getting stronger and fixing to start inversion classes. When my doctor saw my pole bruises I think he kind of flipped out until I told him what they were from. He got a kick out of it. Good luck!!
