What an awesome idea!!! I hope this inspires studios in other states to do the same. I'm gonna enter – Raleigh is a trek but I LOVE this idea and want it to be a huge success! Yay for amateur polers!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Thanks Charley! I actually got to play with one for the first time last week while in New Orleans (which is why it took me so long to respond!). It felt different – slightly grippier but cold studio so hard to tell! – and funnily all the gold had come off so the top and bottom actually looked weird NOT being chrome! So, now I know it has been done, I think I may go for it since once it fades it will look ok (presumably).

How about Spiderman by The Cure? It could be a sultry vampy Miss Muffett…

The key is to use your strong arm for the grip when you are first trying it. So if your right arm is your preferred arm, this is the one you will grip with. Your left arm will be the brace. While it is called "elbow grip", really think of it as a forearm and bicep grip: these muscles will provide the strength so you will want to squeeze the pole with them very tightly. To get the correct feeling for the grip, try standing by the pole and wrapping your dominant arm around the pole. Get the pole nicely up towards your elbow crease and squeeze your forearm and bicep. You’ll want to do this in one fluid motion: approach the pole and wrap. See how it feels – should feel nice and strong. This is a very strong grip. When you are inverted you will do the same. Your left (or weaker) arm will provide the brace for the hold but it is not providing much strength: that’s all coming from the elbow grip. Again, it is a very strong grip but make sure you feel nice and comfortable with it before advancing in your poses. I would get comfortable with it in Caterpiller first, before trying it in Aysha. Hope this helps! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

Tomorrow is the twins’ 3 week anniversary so I finally braved the pole tonight. It was surprisingly…unremarkable! Spins are still out – they put too much strain on the chest area for now. But I inverted fine and could do butterfly and the usual knee hangs no problem at all! Climbing was a little slow but not painful at all – plank, wrist seat, archer = all good. The incision lines feel a little sore but that’s to be expected. The breasts themselves were absolutely fine – it just feels a little strange because the implants are being moved around (which by all accounts is very good for them). I am very happy that the muscle memory is still there and will take it gently back up to normal here on out. Will report back if anything changes!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Day two and an imaginary baby elephant is apparently sitting on my chest. But I feel pretty good – the drugs help. I feel like my upper body is still in shape and I’m gona start weights in a couple weeks once the risk of bleeding has passed. (Curls should be easy since my arms are working fine and with no pain to my chest. I’m also cashing in on the opportunity to focus on abs and lower body so I’m not concerned about getting too out of shape.) But I saw them today for the first time when I showered ad they are AMAZING! So far so good. Will keep reporting progress (feel very narcissistic talking about this stuff but may help a fellow poler out on day!) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

So, I got mine done this morning – 375cc silicone under the muscle. So far so good! Will document as I resume walking the working out then, in about a month, poling. I;m hoping in a couple of days I can go for walks and do abs since it shouldn’t raise my blood pressure too much. Watch this space! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_compress.gif

I agree! Tried it last night and was surprised how easy it was to get into. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif But I am very tall which I think helps. I got into it three or four times but on the last attempt discovered my right inner thigh was REALLY sore and couldn’t do it another time. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mad.gif Today I have discovered that this is a move that hurts more later than at the time! Back feels like it’s been hit by an iron pipe (erm that would be the pole) and right inner thigh is like beginner sore all over again. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif But the move is so cool and so pretty!!! Well worth it! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Wow I can’t believe this thread has appeared! I was looking for something about this just a couple of weeks ago! I get mine done March 10th. Silicone, under the muscle. I’m totally excited…and totally nervous – especially about being off the pole for a while. But I’ve done lots of research and feel if I take things slow I’ll build up my strength again and muscle memory should work in my favor. So good to know there are people out there to talk me through the inevitable freak outs to come!!! Thanks in advance guys https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I desperately want some foxy pole boots but I have an unfortunate sizing combo: size 10 feet but very slim calves (I am 5 feet 10, 130 lbs). I find boots to fit my foot but they are too big around the calf. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Any suggestions of stores to try???
