Thank you Veena, I think that’s what I’m gonna do, will post a vid. tomorrow, I’m too bruised today. maybe you guys can tell me what I’m doing wrong.

Foxy, yes I can do the Cross Knee release, that one hurts a lot but I’m comfortable letting go, the problem with the CAR is that when I’m laying back my legs want to come all the way against the pole like in a bow and arrow position, I don’t know how to keep them from doing that, I squeeze and squeeze until I’m blue(literally LOL), but I can’t seem to find that right spot where they will stay. I will post a video tomorrow, maybe it will be easier to stop my mistake that way. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

HAHAHAHHA, that’s funny Natalie, this friend of mine does yoga and is all about fitness, so she thought inverting on the pole was piece of cake, I tried to tell her, it took me 2 months of practicing 4-5 times a week to be able to invert and another month to invert properly (using my abs), she didn’t listen, she then tried to do a carousel and banged her knee pretty bad on the floor when she couldn’t hold it, that’s when I said NO MORE, you’re not killing yourself on my pole!! get off it now! LOL. funny people.

I think you should call yourself a pole dancer, just do your reverse grab, (as awkward as you might think it is, it’s NOT btw), and if they say….oh that’s easy, have them try to do it, then they’ll know you are a pole dancer.
I already had this experience, a friend of mine who left a year ago for her home country, just recently came back one month ago, we were hanging out at my apartment, she asked if I tried to dance around that pole, LOL, I told her no, I don’t try, I do, ’cause I’m a pole dancer, so I inverted for her and she went…."I think I can do that", hey, it was funny to see her kick back and forth and barely getting her legs to her chest for 15 minutes….LOL, and now she knows, I AM a pole dancer. HA!.

I learned the boomerang hold first, it takes strenght, you gotta be comfortable with holding your boomerang for a bit before you spin it. thighen the abs, pelvis forward, pointed toes, try to get your legs as high as you can, when you get that hold then the spin is easier. Good luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    Thank you both.

Charly, I requested an evaluation but they said no, because they wouldn’t be able to move me up anyways, apparently I HAVE to go thru the levels WITH THEM, they gave me the option of private lessons so I can work at my level, but they are too expensive, plus I like the group exercise, I totally understand why they wouldn’t want people doing stuff that they haven’t been taught in class and I respect that rule. I am very chicken when it comes to tricks lol, so if anything I would be the student who doesn’t want to do something because it’s too scary, but since I got my pole, I’ve had the time to practice stuff and advance, I pole 3 or 4 times a week now instead of once a week at the studio, so that’s gotta help. I don’t know, I’m just a little upset…I believe they’re thinking more about their business and the money that comes in than their students’ development. I will stick with them until the end of this level but I don’t think I’ll be signing up for the next. *sigh*

hahahahhaha, happened to me 2 months ago, I was working on pole sits and had bruises all over my inner thighs, I was with a nurse at the time, she called the doctor in, like she didn’t know what to do, and the doc. said…."I just want you to know, we can help you, you can trust us", so I laughed and told her all about my pole. LOL

Thanks Roxy, I’m not actually doing the SM yet, just doing the preps and focusing on lifting my legs with my core isnstead of kicking or jumping, I noticed I can bring my legs all the way up and actually see my toes in front of my face when I’m leaning on the right shoulder, on the left, I can barely lift them to my chest. I was a little confused about the shoulder positioning.
