It could be also that you are not positioning yourself right, I had the hardest time with this move, I thought I was not flexible enough, that I couldn’t lift from there (even tho I could do a head/elbow stand just fine), then I realized I was just not folding forward enough, I only had a little bit of my neck on the pole, once I actually bent forward and put as much of my spine on the pole as I could, I reached the pole with both hands rather easy, it was a shock. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif Lol, you’ll get it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/bom.gif

Well, I dont own a studio or know anyone who owns a studio in Toronto, this studio in London contacted her directly to book her, so I have no control of where she goes, LOL, if anyone owns a studio in Toronto or knows someone who does, they need to contact her and book her. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

To be honest, I actually get excited when I meet one and I try to get her to show me floor work and dance moves, of course if they can actually do tricks that’s awesome and I know a couple that DO work the pole, not just the grind and hump, I dont know, I guess I just really dont care what people do for a living that much, I just see it as an opportunity to learn from them as performers, they have that "in public" experience and flow and I’d like to learn more. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Thanks megs982 I’m glad you are ok after all that. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif, yes, I am going to try to relax, I am always very diligent with my pap smears and breast checks and such, so I think it should be ok. Thanks again, that makes me feel much better. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Thank you so much girls!!! I called them back and asked to be tested sooner than 6 months, they said it was not necessary and that irritated cells take about 5-6 months to go back to normal anyway, I did have a vaginal infection a couple months ago, so they told me it could be just that, inflamed cells from that infection, I am trying to stay positive . https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Witeroze, find someone to ride with or take the greyhound!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
this is what the Studio owner has sent me, the prices are and Estimate, they haven’t been finalized so they could change slightly, but this would be a two day event July 3-4.
Conditioning and Flexibility": In this workshop, we will start with exercises specific for injury prevention. Amber will teach you how to strengthen you rotator cuff muscles before showing you how to improve your flexibility in a safe manner. We will then learn a short floorwork routine, long pants or leg warmers are a must for this 90 minute class! $65
"Pole Choreography": In an hour and a half, you will learn a choreographed routine incorporating tricks and transitions. Amber will break down each movement so that it is appropriate for all levels and will teach you her signature balletic style which emphasizes extensions and fluidity. Amber will also teach you some key choreography concepts that will help you develop well balanced routines on your own! Price: $75
"Polished Pole": In this 90 minute workshop you are encouraged to come in with spins, climbs, inverts, and combinations which you would like to improve. Amber will show you how to make any move more beautiful by paying attention to lines, toes, hands, and timing. This workshop is appropriate for intermediate/advanced dancers who are interested in polishing their pole dance moves repertoire! Price: $75
A private is 90 dollars for one hour. A semi-private (2 students) is 160 dollars
Come on Ontarians!!! if we fill these workshops with Amber that could be the door to bring more pros this way!!!

hey girlies and guys from Ontario…I posted this on the forum but I thought I would put it here too just in case.
Ok girls, so I’m conducting a little survey here… Amber Richard is thinking of coming to London Ontario to offer her Intermediate/Advanced workshop and a Flexibility workshop, the owner of Aradia has been corresponding with her about it, you all know London is small and Aradia doesn’t have many students so Andrea wants to know if people would actually come and take her workshop, tentative date is first weekend in July, it’s a long weekend so that should be good if you are traveling. So who would want to come to London ONtario to see Amber? raise your hand!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

ohhh do you come to London often? I have a few girls that meet up with me to pole on the weekends, we are not as advanced as I think you are (circus school experience tells me you are awesome), but it could be fun getting together, I will send you my phone # if you want to get together sometime. and yes, you should come to the pole jam in April, should be a blast. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Oh wow, amazing picture!!!
first move that wowed me was the open hip hold, I tought it wasn’t possible, how can you hold yourself up with no hands NO legs, all your body weight on a little tiny piece of skin on your hip, now I can do it no problem, but at the time I just couldn’t believe it was possible, shoulder mount was another one, I knew how it was possible but I never thought I will be stronger enough to pull that off, I now can superinvert and do a decent Aerial shoulder mount. right now Starfish still wows me, it looks impossible.

OHHH so you are in Alethea’s worshop at 2:30 on Saturday right? I signed up for that one too, so I’ll def. get to meet you!!.
