I am in the process of having it done, about half way there, I think it works great. I had my underarms done about six years ago and i have maybe ten hairs or so that grew back. After finishing your sessions (five to eight depending) you should go back once a year or so to get whatever has grown back. It hurts really badly thou, I dont use numbing cream I just ask for them to put an ice pack on. So u ice a section and than they laser it while icing another section. It is definately a bit weird to have an ice pack shoved between your legs but its better than the burning feeling. You can ask them to remove however much you like.
Also I know here in Canada with all the online deals available you can get it done super cheap. Usually 200 bucks for a year of unlimited on an area (u go every six weeks or so) Compaired to 250 for ONE session its a steal 😀
Good luck!

I sanded my Xpole, I agree it doesn't look super pretty but you can't tell unless your in person and it helped big time…also what I found out later that works AWESOME…get a kettle of boiling hot water, wear protecting gloves or as i do use a big towel poor the boiling hot water onto a part of it, bundle up the dry part of the towel underneath the hot/wet part and clean the pole top to bottom not rubbing over the same spot twice, keep wetting a new part of the towel till your poles all the way clean and presto! removes all that stuff on there with no chemicals….key is boiling hot thou…last resort you can try a wax remover (like for your floors) clean with that first than do the boiling hot water trick….I clean with the water like once a month just to strip it clean and it is night and day difference…I didn't even want to use my pole before as it was to slippery…now, if I can ever find the time I love it! i can do everything same as if i were in class! Good Luck!

Laser hair removal in a salon should never really burn you but will hurt…I am not sure what is considered a superficial burn (first degree burn?) but at most you should get some red skin, tenderness of course, and MAYBE some brown spotting that goes away shortly…If you have superficial burns ask them to turn the intensity down next time cause its destroying your skin. Don't want to end up with scars .In canada there is numbing cream/patches called emla and it works ok, cream you put on an hour in advance and have to wrap it with saranwrap or the patch which just sticks on (much easier and cleaner!}. You should always do a test patch at a new place to determine the laser setting that is ok for your skin type and do it without the numbing cream.
A girl went to one of the big salons here in Edmonton and got a brazilian done with the cream…she either didnt feel that much pain due to the cream or she thought it was normal to hurt so badly and she burned so badly she is scarred down there and suing for 5 million…pretty serious

I have gotten lots laser hair removal in salons/treatment center style places and I found having dark coarse hair it hurts like hell but it is totally worth it. I dont know about in the states but in Canada we have a bunch of online deals offered by groupon, deal finder, deal ticker etc. and they offer things like one year unlimited (which means every six weeks) for say $200 which is amazingly cheap. I keep buyin them and soon I'll have no hair left lol.
I did my underarms for full price six years ago ($75 time 6 sessions) and I have yet to regret it. You will find that a few hairs grow back so if you are super picky you may want to go once a year from then on but even now I have yet to get it done in the past two years and I have maybe ten hairs that grown back under each arm so I only have to shave maybe every week if I can remember to!
Having spoke to the ladies who preform these services they have all said dont bother with the home remedys if you want perm hair removal also if it doesn't involve any pain than it also doesn't really work. The pain from laser hair removal should hurt a bit but not screaming pain as it is a laser burning your folicles and if cranked to high by someone who does not know what they are doing it can burn and scar your skin. So if anyone decides to go this way if it hurts super bad tell them to back down the intensity but I have yet to come across that issue in the three different places I have been to.
Good Luck!

@Ewa Tran – You should just ignore the calluses. They do no harm, but if you must get rid of them you can go to Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, or pretty much any salon that does nails and get a shaver thingy or the sand paper stuck to the piece of wood….I don't think you will find the same style these ladies are talking about.

I know this sounds super terrible to not really care but realisticaly as long as there is no harm, I say 'Shit happens" I have made my fair share of mistakes at work and at home and some were definately serious but I just learn and move on. That doctor who made this mistake has to be in his 50's and besides the obvious screw up he does know his shit, he was my mothers gyno for probably 20 years….maybe just a bad day?
I am just looking forward to when these cramps go away 😀

Good news!! After calling Alberta health hotline I got the number to our Birth Control something or another and spoke with an experienced nurse and was told no harm no foul! 😀 She said the most it would do is cause you pain having both in there but obviously I went five years with no cramps or anything else so YAY!!! I am a very happy person now lol
Thanks again ladies!!

Bahahaha Ewa! I looked at the forum title and read one line of your post…all I saw was I'm 4'9" and guessed it was you without even looking at the user!
On the note of the Pleaser, I have boots from them and I got one size bigger.

This may sound silly and definately looks silly but before you are ready to go into a painful thigh hold, slap your inner thights just like an gorilla would pound his chest! My instructor suggested that, it hurts for the first few slaps than just numbs the area, makes it much nicer in the pole but you will for sure have some red thighs!!

I have had two Mirenas in the last ten years, going for my third in a couple weeks. The brown spotting is normal, mine comes and goes but I would not panic 🙂

Glad to hear your pole is turning smoothly now!! I got the magnets from my folks but I'm sure they are for sale somewhere…If you have trouble finding them let me know and I can mail you one!
Good Luck! 🙂

Use a strong magnet to find the joist…There is always nails in the joists to hold it all together so rare earth magnets are amazing…stud finders are junk lol (unless you buy the super expensive ones) Xpole has an instruction video here is the link http://xpoleus.com/store/index.php?main_page=page&id=15 if you open up the assembly video and skip to about 7mins 25 secs they say to just tighten so the dome doesn't move. There is no specification for torque required since most people won't have the tools to measure it anyways. Like I said use ur strongest hand only and tighten till you can no longer turn it. Push/pull on it to see if the base moves.
Good Luck!

Sorry just saw ur last post, I thought you were concerned with the structural integrity of the joists lol. Is your celling textured or flat? If it is textured you can buy that in a spray can and just give the roof a light spray to fill it in. If its flat than just fill it in with putty and repaint the ceiling…When u plan on moving out or removing the pole for good.

I have a special mount for mine to prevent it from falling over which I suggest….This is a copy of my post from another topic:
I have an Xpole that is pressure mounted and what I did to be extra careful it will NEVER fall is I took two sheets of plywood, cut the size of the top plate in one of the sheets (we used a jig saw so you will have to find someone handy with wood working and make sure the cutout is as close to the size of the top base as you can to prevent any side to side movement), than we both glued and screwed the two boards together one on top of the other. I than painted it to match my ceiling (it is in my living room so I wanted it to look decent!) I than took two lag bolts and screwed the board to the ceiling joist.
The total size of the layered boards for my pole which has about a 16 inch diameter is about a foot and a half by two feet ish and the plywood is half inch. When you mount your pole up u slip it into the cut out in the plywood, tighten it down and than you are for sure safe cause you have that extra half inch of space that if the pole moves you will notice and tighten it up before you fall.
I tighten mine until I can no longer tighten it with my strongest hand…never had it shift so far, there is no need to use max two hand strength to tighten it especially if you build urself a top mount for safety. When I take my pole down I have deep depressions in the carpet as well, totally normal I would say, its easily compressed and I would rather a compression mark than it to loose. If you take it down often and vacuum it ou,t the marks will go away after a time. You should not need to take the pole down to give the structure of the ceiling a break, joists are strong enough to help hold up the roof or next floor.

Lyme Lyte, I have been considering sanding my xpert as well to rough it up and finally get some grip on it but I was scared of ruining it, what grit of sand paper did you use and did u wet or dry sand it?
Thanks!!!
