I just wanted to say that there are so many strong breast cancer survivors out there, and you’ll still be beautiful with any procedure you choose to undergo ! I know it’s hard but it’s so so important to your health to stay positive and you will most definitely overcome this. Cancer is very scary, and I got diagnosed with HPV two years ago, and I every single day all I thought about was that it would eventually lead to cervical cancer and I’d never be able to have a family. I’ve had my first normal pap a few months ago..! Make sure you read about women that have won their battle against breast cancer, because they’re everywhere! (: when I worried I would always look up cervical cancer stories and that helped me feel confident about conquering it.

I’m from Nola as well! 12ft ceilings sound like it would make a gorgeous pole space. This may sound silly, but have you measured your ceilings yet? I’m renting too, and my ceilings were advertised to be 9ft, and so I was really concerned about if I should buy an extension because I have an xpole as well. But they’re really 8′ 9″ so I’m happy that I checked before buying the extra part. I’ve also heard of some polers cutting a circle out of wood just large enough to fit the dome of the xpole into and using it in between the dome and the ceiling. It would help to prevent ceiling damage as well as compensate for those four inches (:

I think it does contribute to everyone thinking that every pole dancer is a stripper, which doesn't really matter anyway, because the people who think that way will continue to think that way until they open up to the idea of pole as being more than just night life, and clubbing. A lot of people are limited on the subject, and that's the first thing the mind goes to when you mention anything to do with pole. The people who are open minded about it will understand that stripping is one type of pole, there isn't anything wrong with it at all, and I think it embraces the sexier side of pole, and it is just as empowering as long as you keep it classy ! What I love is that you can take pole, and make it as fitnessey or as sexy as you want.

It would be helpful if everyone asked, "Well, what kind of pole dancing are you interested in?" But it seems that most people aren't aware that it can be done for fitness, competitions, etc. So if you were to make them aware that while strip clubs do exist for those who are into the sexier side of pole, there are many others that do it just for fitness in studios, and even some that go all out and participate in worldwide competitions, ever aspect of pole really takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and strength, even flexibility… It'll widen their understanding of the subject, rather than denying the sexier side of pole, and only focusing on pole as a sport.

I think that's the direction the pole community should aim for, rather than denying a big part of what pole is about ! (: But that's just my opinion,

That's awesome (: ! I can't wait to learn some tricks so I can have one too! I think it might depend on the theme that your going for.

I would definitely wear a set, like under the "Gallery" tab at the top, Veena wore a Mika Yoga wear set. They're really elegant, classy, and beautiful especially the Astoria collection (: You could always wear a bad kitty PoleFit set if you want to showcase your strength and to make your photoshoot's theme more pole-fitnessy!

I agree with everything you said! I don't like explaining how I can pour my heart and soul into poling, and I pursue it with goals… only to get. "Your boyfriend must be so lucky, hur hur." I have so many people that I want to tell, because pole is such an amazing journey, and I think everyone I want to tell would be just as passionate about it. I don't like that feeling of having to explain, because I know exactly how the conversation will go, but at the same time I want to share my passion with the people around me. It's almost like I'm forced to keep it a secret, when pole is such a big part of my life. I think you would feel more comfortable definitely working at a studio because It'll give you a chance to spend time with other dedicated polers too ! They have goals of their own, and they understand what it feels like when you get that move you've been trying for weeks! That's why we have such a wonderful community on SV ! We're dedicated and we all understand ! You'd make a great instructor though! You can still do hair too, I would try to make both work out because they're so flexible.

I love business, and it's another hobby of mine that I blab about all the time, just like I would blab about pole if people understood…! I'm starting another business for pole apparel, pole room decor, etc. Mostly things that haven't been done before, there's already so many sites that offer dvds, and grip aids. I've already gotten approval and I'm going to be a retailer for pole shorts from poledanceplayground.com. The website is going to be called Polecessities, so, http://www.polecessities.com and it should be up and stocked in about 2-3 months or so, I'd love to send you some things when I get them in and it would be wonderful if you could do a review about them on your vlog! (:

If the owner was simple minded enough to only choose one type of girl, then he'll only get one type of customer. No guy (that I know) would like the fact that there isn't a mixture of girls. Investing money is nothing like investing time and energy. Sometimes guys seriously underestimate the strength and dedication it takes to pole! Money comes and goes, but time is something that doesn't. I'm happy that you didn't waste any more time with these people who obviously don't know the value of it. (: Your very beautiful, and don't let this idiot's extremely narrow description of what he thinks pole dance should look like make you feel any less about yourself or your abilities!

It's never wrong to do what feels best for you, but I think the two compliment each other ! You can go to a studio and let them help you, and then come home and work on certain things that you had difficulty with a little bit more. (: Veena's wonderful lessons make it very possible to learn pole at home, and she definitely shows you the correct way to do things and in the correct order. Sometimes, I'm so uncoordinated that I find it hard to copy exactly what I see someone else doing. For certain things I understand more when I can have someone correct my grip or tell me what I'm doing wrong in real time. It just depends, but I think both are essential !

Ellie’s are tiny ! I purchased a pair of heels, and I was so disappointed when they came in, They were far too narrow for me and required some serious stretching and working my foot into, I even had to apply heat for the plastic to stretch but now they fit like a glove. I agree with getting a size larger especially for boots. Also checking at an adult store. That way you can try them on know how they’ll fit and then shop for a better deal online. (:
