My current ceiling is 8’4″ and it’s all cement so I can put my pole anywhere and its so secure, I love it. But I’ll be moving this Friday to an apartment with 9ft and I’m very worried about it being sturdy. I might go ahead and purchase the extension just to be safe.

I do this with my x-pole and because it has so many parts I was very worried! I’m thinking about getting an SV pole, because it can be taken down easily. Far easier than an x-pole! My boyfriend and I have a studio apartment, so it’s very out in the open. There would be nothing worse than his (very old fashioned) parents seeing my pole. And when they decide to “surprise” us with a visit, my boyfriend I take it down quickly, which is really about 10 minutes of them knocking at the door and calling to see if we’re home. (; SV pole would be way better for those emergency moments!

I think it came out nice ! It gave me something to do while I'm waiting for my boyfriend to get out of class! The higher the resolution, and bigger the picture, the better it will come out. So if you have the original picture it'll work perfectly! The one I used is quite small, Make sure you save it as a .png file so the background stays transparent !

When I learn more moves, I can't wait to do mine! (:

I use SumoPaint, and Pixlr to edit my photos and remove backgrounds with the wand tool ! They're all online, and free. I'll give you links! If you don't think it's weird, I'll use the picture you posted and see if I can edit the background out for you! (: I love editing pictures.

You go to "profile" at the far top of the page, then "edit profile" is on the bottom links (right above your question mark picture), and then you select "choose file" and upload it! Then you have to press save at the bottom. If your on a mobile device, even an iPad, it won't show the option to upload! (:

I had to constantly lower mine, adjust it, tighten it and test it! Over and over ! It took a lot of hard work, but I finally got it right. The ceilings here are so so crooked so for me it was a matter of finding the right spot. If your ceilings are very high and you have the slightest uneven spot, it could be unnoticeable and messing with the dome. Once I found an even spot, my boyfriend who weighs 260 was able to spin on it multiple times without the pole even slipping !!! If you keep adjusting you'll get it. Another great idea is to buy a magnetic level, and attach it to see if your pole is straight! I might do that when I move soon instead of fighting with it (: X-poles are wonderful, it's our ceilings!

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I just tightened it a lot lot, did a spin and it was fine. Michaelaargh, you were right about the spinning by hand thing. My boyfriend even got on it and it didn't slip. (: I feel a lot more comfortable practicing with it, knowing I'm not going to make it come down!

I've have four piercings in my ear, and a belly one, and from what I've hear is that the more you expose your skin to nickel the more likely your skin will develop an allergy. In my case, I think it was from wearing a lot of poor quality metal jewelry pieces. A Year ago, for the first time I had a ring that was made with nickel, and to this day I still have a rash on my finger, and it will not go away ! I've never had a problem before, but all of a sudden now I do, and it happens everywhere, I can't even touch my arms to the sink for fifteen minutes when I wash dishes. I hear that stainless steel poles are better for sensitive skin, but it's harder to grip. I was skeptical about getting a chrome pole, because I don't want to have break outs, but it hasn't bothered me at all (yet) ! (: Another option is buying mighty grip gloves for your hands, also thigh protectors. They may offer some protection for when your skin comes in contact with the pole. (:
