The only thing you can do is lots of practices and just stay nice and stretched. Its hard to sometimes hide nervousness I know, just don't let it stiffen your moves ;-). It sucks not knowing what music they are going to play but the big plus side is that it is in a bar that is going to be mardi gras themed so you know it will be dance style/booty poppin' music that is danceable to some extent at least. Haha. Make sure you bring some grip aids or something like that. and also maybe you would feel more at ease if you brought someone along to the gig with you for support! hope some of this helps! Good luck!

MemberJanuary 28, 2013 at 5:29 pm in reply to: X-Pole Customer Service …. which, apparently, is non-existentIt still doesn't make it totally right. and I highly doubt people are "complaining all the time" they have good products over all. A lot of us are curious first timers needing some guidance. That's all. period. the end. There is nothing wrong with any of that. If they can't answer a few questions then they need to find people who can do so, or at least fake it. Word of mouth travels fast and its not good for business for ANYONE if people are rude to their customers. If your in customer service, you need to be able to provide good customer service. The representatives shouldn't get to choose when to be courteous and when to make someone feel like a bother. It comes with the job.

These products are NOT cheap, right? When I call and ask questions I make sure I am never anything short of courteous and understanding. That's just how I am as a person. I knew there wasy no way that I was out of line anywhere….

MemberJanuary 28, 2013 at 11:05 am in reply to: X-Pole Customer Service …. which, apparently, is non-existentI too had a not so lovely customer service expierence with Xpole… I called to ask a few questions about one of the poles before I bought it and the woman I got on the other end seemed very short with me and much less than enthusiastic to answer any of my questions. I felt like I was being rushed with my inquiry. Not the warmest feelings from the people at Xpole. I really do like my pole but the customer service needs to improve a bit. I am gun shy to call back with any more questions I may have. :-< :-< .. (ps. I perfer phone convos and talking to a live person rather than waiting on an email that may not answer the questions to the extent I needed)

EEk!! Thank you… Yeah my arms are up high at eye level. I will have to grip my hand lower. I then can try dropping my hips, it seems like it will be very scary like you guys said *sigh* oh my. lol Thanks ladies….

The video lessons are only avaliable through purchase though. :-/ That's the only down side for people like me who are real tight on money right now.

If anything at all he may have thought the floor work was "extra sexy" or something, I'm not sure. I wouldn't personally think it was stripperish at all. It was marvelous though! Sometimes our men need to take a minute to embrace their woman's sensuality through dance because they get really REALLY good at it. That just means you are workin' it! 😉 😉

MemberJanuary 14, 2013 at 11:05 am in reply to: Mighty Grip gloves, ankles and thigh protectorsI have the mighty grip gloves with tack. I can't seem to use enough dry hands or other things enough to keep my hands from getting sweaty. I have to have the grip gloves. Perhaps if there were a grip aid that had an antiperspriant in it. That would help and I could move away from the gloves one day.

Oooohhh Okay, I remember now! I had trouble picturing the forearm grip for some reason. Thanks. 🙂 I need to start getting used to both of those grips.
-
Ohhh I may need to try the elbow grip/forearm girp.. My hands get sweaty when I pole not matter what. Dry hands and stuff only work so far. I often use my finger cut out pole gloves. Is the Elbow grip and Forearm grip the same thing?????? If not could someone specify please?? 🙂
