I had one that was very finicky, sounded like grinding metal when you tried to tighten it, would slip down. I came to a resolution with X pole. So hopefully it will be an easy fix for you.

My other one would be a little funny in times of temperature change, I would just make sure it was tightened before use, and if it was falling, I was typically failing to hook the first thread when tightening. Can you visually see that the threads aren't making connection, or could it be the same as mine where it was just difficult to get it on the thread but once you did and tightened it correctly, it stayed….

    Good luck!

One of my 3 cats, Oswald, LOVES my Omni. He stares and meows until someone lifts him into the swing. I bought a cheap beachy hammock to hook up to my stand when it not in "gym mode" so he won't claw the expensive yoga swing lol. One of my other cats likes to be held IN the hammock, but not lounge in it alone. The youngest cat doesn't want in it, he wants to claw whatever is moving around in it. He will taunt Oswald when he's lounging, will stand up, grab the hammock, and start walking it around in circles until Ozzy is dizzy. Ozzy used to try and get in it himself, but he would just put his front paws up and walk back and forth and in circles because the whole thing is on a swivel, he could never get in there. He likes when you let him walk through one of the smaller leg slings, and lift him up under his belly lol. He's such a funny cat. And when he's lounging, if he swivels out of view of us or the TV, he will meow till someone turns him back around. I love my babies!! <3<3<3 They aren't allowed in my dance room, so they don't come around the pole or any of the exercise equipment, more because I'm afraid I will kick or land on someone. I see pictures and videos of people's pets walking up to them on their pole, its so cute when they reach down (or up if inverted) to pet them. Yay for warm fuzzies!

My base has a natural amount of wobble in it as well, I think they are built that way. You aren't trying to take it off without taking the spin mode screws out are you? I've done that before, realized half way through that I had overlooked the fact that they need to be out to unlock the base from the pole lol. If not that, I'm sure X pole will be able to give some advice 🙂 Good luck!

I always just think more of a playful shaking or a sexy head toss, rather than thinking about flipping hair I don't have. There have been a few routines at the studio that wanted hair drags and flips, just adapt them. I found if I try to pretend there is hair there or do a hair flick without the hair for it, it looks kinduh silly because I overestimate the movement needed.

Well, I don't really care about that stupid debate lol, I just commented to it since it comes up with the movie. It was STILL a bad movie with the exception of the musical/dance aspects. If it had been a storyline with no entertainment, the acting alone would've had people crying of boredom. I didn't say any of this though. I simply said "Well, its not really burlesque, its more cabaret, but thats what we're doing here so its good, but I really didn't like the movie." Thats when the eye rolls came in and the choreographer declared it her favorite movie ever, a few others declared the same, and everyone acted like I was a high and mighty burlesquer or something. I barely do it! Is HOOPLESQUE even Burly? I dunno. Burlesquers would probably say I am a hoop stripper. Its silliness. I didn't feel it warrented their response. I was pleasant, polite, friendly. Not always the most approachable, I admit, but I'm very shy, and I KNOW it can come off as cold to others who haven't known me long or well. Working on it as we speak.

Your second paragraph is SPOT ON!!!! Thats why I'm thinking more and more as today goes on, maybe I don't want to build this with that group particularly. Its really nice just to sort out my thoughts with someone who is NOT my husband who basically said "f those b's, quit." Its not that easy when I had such high hopes for an awesome thing. And after just 3 rehearsals, it IS hard to guage, but when its gotten off to such a shoddy start, I'm disheartened. I value your imput greatly.

Studio owner scheduled auditions. Choreographer is the “leader” it seems. Others are either instuctors or advanced students. I’m a lower level pole, but I’m a hooper, and have a hoop act to add to the troupe. When I tried just joining post practice chat about the movie burlesque, I said I didn’t like the movie, but I liked the music and dancing, even though it was more cabaret than burly. Choreogrpher rolled her eyes at me and said burly dancers were all panty bunched about it being “incorrectly titled” I just commented. And as it goes, follow the leader. Choreographer rolls her eyes, the other girls know where she stands, they adopt her stance to remain in good favor. One girl agreed with me that only the feather/pearl act was burly but it wasn’t even an argument, I just commented, but most was discssion of cool techniques and inspirations from the movie. I mentioned cell block tango to switch it to where I wasn’t feeling under attack anymoe cuz we all agreed on that. It all just left a bad feeling.

And I feel I have held my tongue plenty, but it was time to say what I needed to say. I mean, the debut performance is end of april. I show up earlier than anyone and usually the instructor hasn’t unlocked the door yet. I practice hard. When we videoed ourselves 5 girls sat out feeling they didn’t know the choreography, but you video to learn! What’s sitting out gonna do? Maybe I feel I’m bottom of the totem pole to the instructors who are in the studio’s troupe, and I don’t want to be advertisement for a studio that looks down on me. Half the girls weret at our last (aka,3rd) rehearsal. Maybe I feel like I’m putting in a lot of blood sweat and tears to build this with and for them and they just…aren’t that nice to me. So the friendship, performing, collaboration is what my motives were for joining. I guess I pretty much know what I wanna do. I just haven’t made the decision to cut the cord final yet because I want to talk to the choreographer first. The situation blows.

Well the group was formed with the current members, including me. Not breaking into it, we’re building it. So that dynamic I understand but that is not the case here. The instructors know each other but we ALL just started this. If they feel I’m a complication or a vocal newbie, I’m definitely in the wrong spot. I just emailed the choreographer, telling her I’m not sure its a good fit, did she have an opinion either way, and that I may bow out after tomorrows rehearsa depending on how it goes. I can guage more acurately based on her response I think.

I'm dwiizie everywhere but here, find me on youtube, facebook, myspace, etc. If myspace still exists, I heard rumours that they killed it or revamped it. I used to have my singer page with a few of my bands and solo projects on it myspace / justdwiizie  I think I'm on 4square and twitter too but I don't use them. Haven't gotten on the instagram train yet…

Yeah, the stock photo of the set IS a sport, but its not a picture she took of that pole, she got it online. Still wouldn't pay that for it, as Chemmy mentioned above, there is no way she paid that much for it, and you can find a better deal elsewhere. I mean a NEW sport is only 250. The xperts are more expensive, but don't pay this amount for that pole.

That doesn't look like a sport to me, and I wouldn't pay that for an older used top loading pole. I just sold my 50mm xpert, new model, with an extra height extension, not too long ago for 220. JMO 🙂 Good luck!

Someone commented on a Facebook picture of me on my pole. They said "The transformation I've seen in you from the last time I saw you is just amazing." They were right, lost weight, toned, hair cut, makeup, and some sexy digs vs. the jeans/tshirt/twice a year haircut rut I had fallen into since taking my desk job. Poling has revived me. I've also gotten several comments on my collar bones. Even before I was a poler, I asked my now husband what his favorite thing about me was. I expected eyes, face, lips, t n a, legs, but he said "Your clavicles". Never thought there was anything special about collar bones lol!!!!!

SO true about that. Its like dude hoopers. If you're a dude, and you hoop, you have about 1000 fan girls instantly lol. My husband hoops, you'd not believe how bold the women are right in front of me about hitting on him. Luckily, we are able to laugh about it.

They covered it pretty well, especially options of cute tops for boobies!!!! I'm so tired of string bikinis, never ever will I be able to rock that look. I do like the awesome cutout bathing suit types.  Exposed in the sides and back, but some coverage for the belly, and haltery top with support if the neckline plunges.
