I'm at an average 5'5" so I think I will fit comfortably with the stand. I know that you're supposed to be able to reach the poles, hook foot on ladder, stretch assists, etc, so It doesn't suprise me that you may touch them.

It would also be cool to have it hang from the swivel really short so you could swing pole >:-) But they also say to anchor the stand if you're putting a lot of lateral force into your swinging… I'm also looking WAY forward to when they release the tent cover for it. Swingy yoga in the rain without the wetness. MMMmmmm. I guess it would be a sunshade too. Unless they made it clear like an umbrella more than a tent. That would turn into a sauna though.

Hrm, the stand is 8 ft in diameter…at the bottom…. But the two videos with the girls using the stand AS the pole, they seem to have plenty of room, even when inverting on the trapeze bar. But for an extended leg fireman, yeah, I can see some problems there at the basic level. For just "pole strength" moves, like rows, squats, pole ups, etc, it would work, but might not have the versatility. Maybe theres an attachment that goes off the top to outside the frame…. I know it would be COMPLETELY design flawed and unstable, but wouldn't it be cool to have a pole coming right out the top? Climb up, spin down, and do a flip off the trapeze bar. Oh I can't wait till my stand comes I want to play with it sooooo bad. I ordered mine in black, it looks like the black still isn't back in stock, but the silver and gold are. If it wouldn't cause more trouble than it would for me just to be patient, I would ask them to switch it to a silver stand so I can have it now lol

I was picturing a pole that would hang from the swivel, and you could just extend it to make it contact the ground, with the weight of the stand and the dancer keeping it static?? Or maybe a bracket or something that attaches to the frame that you can sink the pole into. Or maybe its something entirely different than what I am envisioning. The picture on the post was just a girl on a pole next to an omni gym so I don't think that was indicative of the final product. I really really wanna knooooow lol

Omni Gym mentioned a spinning/static pole attachment for the rock it stand. I'm SOOOOO dying to find out what they're coming out with. It was on their Facebook, can't remember when. I do still like the wider leg slings the fly gym has, but the padding is sooo nice for stretching. The stand hasn't come yet, so I've been using the hammock feet to do scorpion stretches with my pole. I can not wait to get suspended lol. I am also really looking forward to the bounce of the trapeze system. I imagine it to be slight, but still a little trampoliney. I used to love those door frame bouncers for babies when I was a young tot lol.

I know Karol's is newer, maybe its on sale to promote it? Turquoise is much prettier than yellow in my opinion, I would pay extra for teal *snicker* I don't understand why the special editions are much cheaper than the standards. Maybe because they stock a lot of them and need to guarantee sales? Hrm…

My father always said this about referring to people as "she". He said it was as rude as pointing. I never had ANYONE else ever have a problem with it. My dad is in the wrong country lol. He is of German heritage…. Interesting.

I glitch a bit with my pole. It can be very sensual, and obviously great for beat punctuation. Some may think it looks stupid but whatever, do whats right for you. If you're glitchy and thats what you love, it will show in your dance, moreso than if you were just to pick a "sexy song" that didn't speak to you.

I have had the goal of touching my feet to the back of my head. Backbend comes first lol. I have been practicing for flexibility on my balance ball, and when in a bridge position, doing little bitty "don't fall off the balance ball" pushups overhead to build strength to get up there from the ground. I can now walk my hands down the wall backwards and I am ALMOST to the ground. With your headstands and handstands with the wall, I am sure you can do this movement too. I am in my 20's so I didn't speak up, but I've been trying to do a back bend for about 3 years now. Progress is SLOW but its coming. Pigeon poses, scorpion stretches. Your yoga hammock will help with the flexibility aspect a lot, and you can use it as a spotter when you know what height you need, so you can lower back into a bend and just lift up from there, so if you lose your strength, you won't fall on your head. Good luck, I'm working on it too 🙂

Lol there are a lot of stylists on here. I am not one of them. I am a home colorer through and through. One thing that helped me even out the color when I did this was to use a protein filler on the hair, both a treatment after lightening/before coloring as well as an additive to the hair color mix (you can find it at a beauty supply store.) You should probably chill a minute before putting your hair through anything else, use some restructurizing conditioners and whathaveyou. What shade of red are you going for? Now that you've used brown, you can't go any lighter than that brown without lifting again, and I fear that would turn your hair to linen cloth. If you are using semi-perm color, the red will kind of be a wash over the brown. Theres a good chance your roots will be lighter, unless you color match with a brown and just do your roots as though the lighter color were your natural shade and you wanted to do your roots to match the brown you've put in your hair. As your hair grows, the change from the processed hair to the more "virgin hair" will be less noticeable. If you have a short do, it can be really punky to have, say, bright orange roots, and red tips >:-) At any rate, good luck!

One thing that helped, was to make sure that you're breathing as deeply as you can without excruciating pain, and about 4 weeks out, just make sure you're stretching MILDLY so that your rib cage doesn't heal very tightly. Mine was starting to heal tight and I had to really expand my rib cage when breathing to maintain full mobility. Thats what my doc advised, as always, listen to a doctor 🙂

When I broke a rib, it took 6 weeks for the pain to really subside, 8 before I was poling again, and still felt pain now and then for another month. All better now though, would never know it was ever broken. I didn't break it poling either, I fell down the stairs.

I have Grave's disease. The side effects of the thyroid supressing drugs they would need to use outweighed the benefits of them. My options became: Remove a portion of my thyroid through surgery, the risks being damage to vocal chords. I'm a singer so I passed on that. The other option was to take radioactive iodine, absorbed by the thyroid, that kills a portion of the thyroid. They overshot a little with the dosage, so now I'm actually hypothyroid which has its own challenges, and one of the most common symptoms is weight gain and inability to lose weight (fun fun right?). Grave's, being an autoimmune disorder, is still present to the effect where my body still wants to kill my thyroid, stunting the pituitary gland, so there is always heightened antibodies in my blood, but with Synthroid, a synthetic thyroid replacement hormone, my levels are fairly normal. I also suffer from PCOS which can sometimes get funky with both of them always at the same time. It is definitely manageable though, even on the long term. Its hard when my levels change and I start feeling and acting crazy but I don't know the chemical reason behind it. I'm starting to better recognize when its time to get checked, just to see if my crazy is chemical or just my natural charm lol.
I'm sorry to hear that you have to deal with this, but it does get better, best of luck <3. Why, though, does your doctor recommend a break from poling? Is it in relation to medication side effects or what about poling impacts or exacerbates your thyroid issue?
