No more useless knick knacks!! You saw what the last move was like!!!" Nix the candy, lotion, and bath sets too, I usually regift them *blush* I actually really REALLY need pots and pans, mine are Wal Mart brand that I bought 7 years ago. I keep a screwdriver in the kitchen for then the handles are falling off lol. Thats something I could spend money on, but if I'm not paying bills, I'm finding it really REALLY hard to justify buying something else, even another pole or silk rig or what have you. I USED to be really careless with money, racking up debt, overdrafting my account, etc. Now that I've solved that, I'm like, bill obsessive. If I slip, it opens the gate to financial laziness, which is not compatible with my goals, thus obsessive is the way of it. One day: Balance lol

MemberDecember 26, 2012 at 11:33 am in reply to: What part of “Studio Veena lessons” did Santa not understand ?Well I just saw the FlyGym someone here got and was like "hrm… I could get one of those with my xmas money….or I could get a new pole…or I could get a Lyra….or I could get contact staff…or…" lol!! Then the voice of reason kicks in "You still owe on your car, you want to buy a house, you have enough…" I think I shall replace the voice of reason with "Spend it on something lush for yourself!" Lush 🙂 what an awesome word!

Oh you're going to love it!

I had this when I first started working on spins. My backhook is still better than frontwards lol! Right now, I'm working furiously to try and do an elbow stand and a bridge. With the pole, I'm mainly working on strength and transitions in hopes of getting up side down one day.

I would consider moving to NC just to be closer to so many awesome facilities, teachers, and gatherings (for hooping more than for pole) They've definitely got it goin' on down there.
-
No problem, I found out about those guys when they were mainly for hoop and music instruction. The other circus school I was thinking of is in Raleigh http://cirquedevol.com/

Theres also the FlowJo in Carrboro, NC, they have all sorts of circus arts coming in and out, and I think an actual circus focused facility opened nearby to it….. Still a hike…

FIL gave me a sign for my bathroom about fairy soap, a fairy with a gazing ball (I like faeries!) 100 bucks and a set of raver gloves lol!!! The man knows me well. Cash from his grandparents and great aunt. His other relatives were boycotting "consumerism" this Christmas *shrug* we still gave them some crystals, they didn't get it lol. Due to some miscommunication, we didn't do Christmas with my side of the family. My brother is coming up with his baby this weekend, I assume we'll do presents and hanging out then. My husband got me a sock monkey in a tutu, some black boots, and I picked out for myself a coat, 2 Furbys, and some accessories for them lol. I also got an amethyst and tourmaline necklace, but it didn't come with a chain. 😀 I DID ask for lessons and things, but I now have the cash to get them, so its ok, but knowing me, I will spend my money on responsible things and pay bills. My husband is trying to convince me that our play money is play money, but mainly because he wants to spend it ALLLLLL on some music stuff lol.

I know DC has more offerings than Central VA, but the drive is a killer. I can find silks and lyra within an hour or so drive. I think even VA Beach might have a good acro community… hrm…

I've been curious about this too, also in VA. I've seen the Performance Poles Australia (on Facebook) that does the rubbery coating, looks like they have the "condom" style too, but I haven't looked deeply into their products because I didn't have the money to go for one yet.

Meant to say "Kinduh like this ring, only not RAISED texture, just squares of brushed and squares of polished."
