K-tape! Never thought of that. Great idea 🙂

I’m sure there is much more to it but to me it was just her basically “masagging” them back into place. She would massage it and then put pressure on it and have me take a deep breath pushing against her pressure. It would be really sore for a day or two after my appointment but then by end of week it was pretty much gone. I still can feel pain there after a hard practice but I no longer have that sharp pain when I take a deep breath or cough.

It’s usually just the opposite for me… I seem to do better if I wait a week or two in between practicing the hard tricks. If I try to flag or air invert or iron-x repeatedly my muscles don’t allow it. It’s like they need to rest and then come back stronger than ever the next time. But maybe my muscles are weird 🙂

I agree, it seems to be anything where your mid section is next to or wrapped around the pole that irritates it. For me it was when I first started practicing the Jade splits. When a rib is displaced its not like a quick sharp pain “like oh, I just popped a rib” that happens. I didn’t notice it till the next day. The only difference I noticed was there was a short sharp pain when I coughed or took a deep breath the next day. My first physcial therapy appointment the lady was pushing around gently on my back (rib cage) and she’s like oh yeah, you have absolutely no movement back here. She said there should be some “give” in the bones when I press and they were just stuck there, no bounce, no give. It was very interesting to learn so much about my ribs….painful but interesting!

Are you sure it’s not a rib or two out of place?? I have had ribs move both front and back on both sides and with the help of a physical therapist they have been put back in place but it sounds like the same sort of pain.

Which is not good for me, I know. I’m going to try way more water, some magnesium, more good fats and a partridge in a pear tree 🙂

I KNOW I’m not drinking enough water so tomorrow I shall carry the gallon jug with me until it’s gone. Some vitamins are probably a good addition too. I eat very clean, lean proteins, veggies, complex carbs and fruit. I have been seeing a physical therapist once a week for about 6 weeks and that is helping. She just looks at me and says “so what trick did you learn this week?!?” LOL I will get her on a pole someday I swear! Anyway…SQUIRREL! ha No really though….THANK YOU ALL and I am taking each and every suggestion into consideration. Oh and I am 33 years young 🙂

I am going officially make my 2014 Pole resolution to be: *drum role* TO FIND MY SEXY!! I have been poling for about a year now and although I can do some advanced tricks I think turning on a sexy song and really just letting go and being sexy is the hardest thing on earth and it shouldn’t be. I’ve been divorced for 7 years now and really never even dated anyone so I have issues in this department that I need to work thru and I think poling has helped a lot but I would just like to feel comfortable putting on something somewhat revealing…and just…be sexy! Life’s too short 🙂 Good luck to you both on your iron-x’s, can’t wait to see a video when you nail it!!
