Sounds like you might be talking about the ‘Ballerina’ (alt. Stag pose).
It’s the last move in this vid by Veena: http://www.youtube.com/user/StudioVeena#p/u/3/VID71YSiIQE
Is that, or some variation of it, by any chance what you mean? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif

A journal sounds like a good idea, I think some girls on here actually have one. I’m horrible at keeping journals though, so that’s not for me. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
I do have a list with moves I can do, and moves that I want to learn (and are attainable, at least to work on). I just updated my pole list yesterday, and organized the moves into categories. Hopefully that’ll help me structure my practice sessions a little better.
But then again, I don’t dance (yet), so I can just run to my list every time I run out of inspiration. But anyway, the list isn’t a cure-all, ’cause I still forget to practice moves (and only remember them when I’m on my way home). And I never have enough time to practice everything I wanted to in the practice hour. Plus I should work more on (new) combinations, and I always see these great new moves/combos on SV and YT, but usually just forget them. I tried writing them down, but that doesn’t seem to work…
Hmm. Guess that didn’t help anyone….like….at all https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

Wow! Those are some gorgeous pics!
So, my choices would prob. be: Bridge, CAR, Pin-up, Wall (black&white), and maybe folover and pole sit.
But it sure is difficult to choose!!! Good luck with that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif -
To learn the names of moves, the pole move guides by Redke71 on YT are also helpful. E.g. alphabetized beginner moves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8PLPi0M8bM.

I’ll try to paste it in the thread.
This is the move named after (and performed by) Alesia:https://www.studioveena.comhttp:://www.triagedesign.co.uk/wikipole/images/a/a0/Alesia.jpg
Can’t believe she can perform that move and still smile while doing it.
Her flexibility is really https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_spiderman.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/alien.gif -

For the basic invert, it sounds like you need to build some more strength. For more info on the basic invert, and which muscle groups to strengthen (and how) check this thread: http://www.studioveena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=793&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
I’m not sure about the wrap around.. Is that the same as the corkscrew? Or is it a cradle spin? Dunno. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif
Hope that helps a little. Good luck!

I salute you, fellow pole addict https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I LOVE the drop you invented! With a little more practice it could be a real showstopper!!
BTW, I think the move you pointed out in the YT vid is called ‘Dangerous D’. (so be careful https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif )

I briefly tried it yesterday, but found that as soon as I had changed grip and turned my body, I was just hanging still, or just couldn’t hold the chair position. Guess I need more control. I’ll try again next practice https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

They actually are grouped: go to the ‘video’ section; then on the right side, click on ‘member videos’; and then ‘monthly challenges’.
Have fun! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I just found this great vid, which has a relatively slow holly drop at 2:36. Great routine too, btw.

Hey Dee, I was wondering about the shaving cream thing. (Wasn’t it shaving gel btw?)
What happens when you start sweating? Do you get, like, foamy legs? LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
No, but seriously, I was considering buying some, so I’m very interested in the pros/cons.
