Ok, I just looked it up and the x-pole site says an x-pole set includes "Adjuster Cover (Metal or Foam)". So it is correct that it's a foam thingy. I'm not sure how safe it is to grab the form cover though. Do they mention anything about that in the manual?

A foam thingy to cover the adjuster rod of your xsport?? That doesn't sound right. I can't imagine why the adjuster cover for the xsport would be different from the xpert one, and the xpert has a metal cover which screws over the rod!
If you want to know how many, and which extensions you should be using, there is an xpole height calculator on: http://xpole.com.au/height.htm

I can't be of too many help, I'm afraid. But I think there are some good yoga channels on YouTube too. Maybe someone else can recommend some?

Yay!!! Runey is back! I'd been wondering where you went. It's great to have you back.
I can relate to the motivation thing. That has really been an issue for me lately too. As long you remember it's most important to have fun with it, you'll be just fine!

Are you by any chance planning on visiting The Netherlands? If you do, let's jam at my place!!!!!

Ah, that is just awesome! The new site keeps getting better and better! Who knew that was even possible? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

correct me if I’m wrong, but shouldn’t it be inside arm?

To avoid twisting of the x-joints, don’t forget to tighten the screws by alternating the two! AND also retighten all x-joints after you’ve put up the pole. You will notice that you can turn them a fraction more after erecting (*giggles*) and tightening the pole. (I know it’s all in the manual, but it’s easy to overlook, and makes all the difference)

I can’t do the lift on either side yet, but I TG handspring on both sides. I find that both sides have advantages. Just typical advantages you’d expect from having your dominant hand as top or bottom. Do you handspring and cartwheel mount on both sides? Because that helped me confidence-wise when learning TG on my other side. Also, tape your attempts on both sides and compare them. A polebuddy of mine did TG handspring on both sides, but they looked way different, which in the end explained why she couldn’t TG handspring on both sides from up the pole. Your leading leg might just be choosing a whole other path upwards on your non-dom. side.

https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif Otter, your PT is a genius https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_ugeek.gif ! I never looked at it that way, but that makes so much sense!!!
I recently started doing some exercises at home (almost) every morning before shower, and I already feel the difference on the pole. I try to switch around the routine a bit to target different muscle groups and keep it interesting. I also try to add some stretching at least a few days a week. It’s hard to motivate myself though, so hopefully I can keep this up. I’ve been doing just pole for a long time too, with the occasional drop-in class in bodyfit or w/e. It does help my motivation to know that these additional mini workouts will help my poling though! -
Also, TG is a lot harder on the joints than SG (split grip), especially in case of the handspring. So be careful! It is usually recommended to learn the moves in SG first. Almost all can be done in either grip, the difference is more in transitions from other moves. You could eg. go into TG from CAR or reverse aysha. But tricks like butterfly, straight edge, straight edge split (aysha), jacknife, rubber aysha, can be done in both SG and TG. Lunchbox is an exception (prob. very awkward in SG if possible at all, mm maybe that’s worth a shot https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif ). Iron X and lift can theoretically be done both ways, but in practice will feel loads more secure in TG. SG iron X would require very strong and solid grip with the top hand, and will use different muscles overall. I haven’t seen anyone but Oona Kivela lift in SG, so I’m assuming you’d need superhero strength https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif . lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
For a lot of people TG holds feel more stable than the same holds in SG, but that might be because you have the awkwardness of figuring out balance, hand placement and overall body positioning when first learning these holds in SG, so if you progress to TG from there it’s not really a fair comparison to make.
Hmmm, did I help at all? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif Ah well… -

Ok, wait, let me edit that a little… I heard bad things about xpole uk’s customer service, and very good things about xpole us. Thankfully I haven’t had any problems as yet.
