I second everything LauraLish said. I discovered the Whole30 and It Starts With Food in Decemebr 2012 and I have never looked back. Eating paleo has helped me with strength gains in pole that I would have never dreamed of getting in a year. It also makes me feel amazing, look amazing, and I have more energy than I’ve ever had before! I have a pole/paleo blog if you want to check out some of the things I eat 🙂 (http://unlimitedpoletential.com)

No worries, I know what you meant by “complaining” 🙂

The only reason why I think it’s a metal allergy is because it is the same type of rash I get when I wear jewlery with nickel in it (and I have already tested positive for a nickel allergy).
I’ve always used my own fresh towel that I bring to class everyday and wipe the pole down really well with rubbing alcohol before using it. Maybe I’ll try just water (or maybe vinegar?) and avoid rubbing alcohol to see if that helps. As for grip aid, I only use tite grip and a little bit of dry hands on my hand (which doesn’t bother my hands) but maybe it’s rubbing off on the pole and other area of my body may be sensitive to it? But I’ve been using these products consistently for a year without any trouble so it would be strange to start having a reaction this late. But I’ll try not using them to see if that helps.

Thanks for the responses everyone…I’m going to rest for the week, reassess the pain and go to a sports doctor if necessary. I hope it’s not serious thought 🙁

Abcollins and koidragon – thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely add L sits and leg lifts to my exercise regime – hopefully this will be the answer to my froggy leg issue lol.

Katana – duck taping…interesting! I’ll have to try that 🙂

Abcollins – I do cross train (heavy lifting – squats, DL, etc.) so I’m not sure if this is a strength issue at this point…I will keep stretching though and maybe that will help.

Jacki – I’ve tried focusing on one leg at a time, but even with the other leg bent I can’t seem to keep the one leg completely straight! I even have trouble keeping my legs completely straight when doing a cartwheel or a fan kick for that matter….which is why I’m thinking it’s a flexibility issue 🙁

Leyrose – Just to reflect what everyone else is saying, 1000 calories is not enough at all. When you eat that little your body goes into “starvation mode” where it tries to keep as much fat as possible because the body is under assumption that it is being starved. I know it might sound counterintuitive, but you need to eat more in order to loose fat and gain muscle. I recommend checking out the Whole30 program by Melissa and Josh Dallas – I had great results from it as have many others! Good luck 🙂

Danni, I’m in the exact same situation as you! I suffer from hyperhidrosis on my hands and feet and it can be frustrating to say the least. DGP + Dry hands works best for me, but my hands still get to slippery to freestyle/do a routine. I’m currently in the middle of iontophoresis treatments for my hyperhidrosis, so I’m hoping that this will be the answer to my solution. All can say is don’t give up! I would suggest seeing a dermatologist and see what they can recommend for you 🙂

I also wrote a blog entry about my hyperhidrosis so you can check it out for more details! http://unlimitedpoletential.com/2013/08/07/where-theres-a-will-theres-a-way/
