I just posted a new thread about this, but I had a feeling that this question has been asked here before.
I always loved pole dancing, even though way back in the days it was always associated with strip clubs and when I saw the movie Striptease with Demi Moore, I loved how she danced in the movie. Then I saw the behind the scenes that Demi had to be trained for the movie to do the dance, which inspired me to start up too. This was in 2007. Although if I would have pursued it further, like not being so lazy at times to just practice (I even have my own pole at home), I would be rocking it by now, but I don't 🙁 I am still at the very beginning level of poling, which is fine by me, as I don't plan to compete anyway 🙂
I always loved dancing and have a very good feel for rhythm, however, my biggest set back with poling is which is why it sometimes discourages me as I can't do so many things on the pole 🙁 Even my fan kicks look soooo clumsy, LOL.
But I do it for fun now at home, nothing drastic, and I always love going to the pole events to watch the pro's 🙂

I only know about P90X. While it’s an awesome 90 workout program, however, you do have to commit about 1.5 hours each day on it. I tried to do it, but I don’t have the time and it’s not an excuse either, but when people work 10+ hours a day, then you go home and have to do house chores, cook, clean, especially when you have a family, by the time I would have time for myself it’s close to 10pm. P90X does work (from the results I have seen on some of my friends), but I think you have to have a lot of time on your hand to get the results. Just my opinion on this.

Hi there,
I did some research about this myself, since once I start learning inversions I don’t wanna break my neck IF I fall.
I found this website, which I think is pretty much the "only" place in the US that sells crash mats:
http://www.lilmynx.com/shop/index.php?cPath=1_25
They are pretty pricey though, $199, almost as much as the pole.
If you wanna be creative, and don’t wanna spend that much, there are two things I can suggest. I was gonna try these myself. They sell these workout mats at any sporting store. They fold out into 4 sections. You can either buy one and cut it into 2 pieces and then velcro it together in the middle. Hope that makes sense. Or buy 2 crib mattresses and do the same, use a heavy duty velcro in the middle and you got yourself a home made crash mat. Works just as great!
